Method of Work 

 1) The site will have been fully fenced off and secured by Forrest Contractors. 2) Welfare facilities will be provided by Forrest Contractors. 3) All services will have been disconnected and certificates provided by Forrest

Contractors. 4) Air conditioning units will have been de-gassed by others. 5) Works will commence once operatives are wearing the following PPE, Hard hats,

Safety boots, Eye protection, gloves. 6) The excavator will be unloaded on the car park, using tyres to protect the tarmac

surface. 7) The asbestos survey states that there are no ACMS present within the building, but

should any suspect material be found, cease work and report to the office for further instructions.

8) Commencing from the car park side of the building, the excavator with grab will remove the front panels and roof, then slowly work its way through the building.

9) The rear and right hand side walls are to be pulled inwards to keep within site boundaries.

10) All materials, wood, metal, plastic, etc, are to be sorted into appropriate skips which will be sited to the left of the building, to be removed from site for recycling.

11) Hardcore is to be removed from site for recycling. 12) The base is to be grubbed up and removed from site. 13) The whole site is to be left clean and tidy.

* UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MUST ANYONE ENTER THE BUILDING ONCE DECONSTRUCTION HAS COMMENCED*

  

 

All work will be undertaken by qualified competent persons with experience of the type of work described above, and in all cases, in full accordance with safety procedures specified in the companys Health and Safety Policy.

FORREST CONTRACTS DUST CONTROL MEASURES

FOR

MCDONALDS HASLINGDEN Task Works involve the demolition of an old Little Chef, car park extension and construction of a side by side drive thru. All works will be carried out between the hours of 07.00 – 18.00 hours Monday to Sunday. Dust/Mud Control If particularly dry conditions are encountered during construction works the site will be damped down with water to prevent dust from spreading across the surrounding area. It is not anticipated that mud will be a problem at this store as construction traffic will not be directly entering the excavations due to their relatively minor nature. The cleanliness of all hard surfaces will be continually monitored and they will be regularly hosed and swept off as required.

All machine drivers are to be trained to CMPE standard and competent. All drivers are to be informed of pedestrian routes and traffic management plans. Banksmen to be used for reversing and manouvering vehicle. Drivers are to be made aware of any possible buried cables or services, Care must be taken whe operating on inclines or traversing slopes, Loads must not be slued over persons, site accommodation or other occupied areas. No persons are allowed to be within the operating range of the vehicle without the operators permission.. A minimum distance of 600mm shall be left between the outer radius of the machine and any structures/obstructions. All machines are to be inspected before and after use. If the machine is to be left unattended the keys shall be removed and the excavator secured. Management must ensure the correct excavator has been selected , and the correct excavation techniques are implemented.

Ensure all demolition works are carefully planned and sequenced to prevent premature collapse. All workers should be competent trained demolition staff with knowledge of the works in hand. All workers undertaking other works in proximity to the demolition works should be kept at a safe distance. Personnel should be made aware of the location of hazardous substances. Appropriate PPE should be worn when dealing with these. All staff are asbestos awareness trained. Ensure all services are disconnected before commencing work in any area. ******* site manager to confirm and issue certification. Keep noise levels to a minimum wherever possible, and take regular breaks. Use hearing protection. Harness or lanyards are to be worn while using scissor lifts.
