Keeping this in mind as well as theinterest of researchers and the industry, the BangaloreChapter of IIM is organizing a two-day seminar and oneday Techmart session entitled Emerging Trends inMaterials and Processing Technologies".

The Indian Institute of Metals - Bangalore Chapter (IIM-BC)The Indian Institute of Metals was conceived in 1945 and currently the membershipexceeds Ten Thousand with Fifty Two chapters across the country. Most of thenation's outstanding metallurgists and materials engineers have been associatedwith IIM in various capacities. The Bangalore Chapter located in the IndianInstitute of Science (IISc) is one of the leading Chapters of IIM.

The Department of Materials Engineering, IISc, is in close association with IIM Bangalore Chapter in all its technicalactivities supporting metallurgists fraternity. The Indian Ceramic Society Bangalore Chapter The Indian Ceramic Society (InCerS) , a non-profit organization, was established in 1928 with theblessings and active support of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the main architect for establishingthe Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.

During these eighty-five years of its existence, the InCerS has grown from strength to strengthunder the guidance, patronage and leadership of several leading educationists, scientists,technologists and industrialists of the country who served the society in different capacities. The
