Failure to do so may result in poor lamp performance or damage to the lamp. 3. Lamps should be shut off at least once per week for 15 minutes to minimize the risk of arc tube rupture. Lamps rated for open fixture use must be operated base up ± 15 °, otherwise an enclosed fixture is required. 4. When EYE Multi-Metal Ace™ lamps are extinguished, the power should be turned off for at least 15 minutes; otherwise the lamp ballast and ignitor may be damaged. Clean Arc™ • Lamps operate in existing fixtures with conventional CWA ballasts for ANSI M58 and M59 lamps, making it an upgrade from conventional to High Performance metal halide.
