Message from the President “If you think it’s hard to meet new peo- ple, try picking up the wrong golf ball.” Jack Lemmon After the winter we’ve endured, spring golf will be all the sweeter. I’m looking forward to getting the cobwebs off my clubs and hitting a few with the gang once again. I hope you are all looking to recruit new members so our chapter can grow and some of us can meet potential mates. After all, we ARE a singles golf group for a reason. The Board is eager to hear any suggestions you, the members, have for improving our chapter so come to one of our monthly meetings the second Mon- day at Out West Restaurant at 6 PM or call one of the members with your ideas. The strength of a group of people is directly related to the involvement of each of its members. Happy Spring to you all! See you on the first tee!!! ~Jeanne Peters, President Triad Chapter - American Singles Golf Association April 2014 CELEBRATING 22 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Upcoming Events Include (see SinglesGolf.com/events) Memorial Day Weekend - May 22-25, 2014. The first target should be about 20 feet in front of you, the second 30 feet in front of you, and the third at 40 feet. First hit shots using your pitching wedge. Start to notice how much time the shot spends in the air versus on the ground when hit to each target. Do this with each club and you will see how all shots vary. Once practiced with all clubs, pick around six random targets no more than 40 feet away and begin to ask yourself what the best club is to use for each. You will then be on your way to developing your own feel and understanding for the short game and how different clubs can be beneficial for various types of chip shots

New Year at the Beach

ASGA

WESTERN REUNION

May 30-June 1, 2014

Every year we have a May golf outing and National has one back east over

Memorial Weekend. They annually call theirs “The Reunion”. So this year we

have tabbed ours “The Western Reunion.” We have also picked a location that

most of the members of western chapters of ASGA can get to easily. It’s Carson

City, home of “The Devine Nine,” located 30 minutes south of the Reno-Tahoe

Airport in Nevada’s Capital City.

We have scheduled golf on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st allowing

those to travel home late on the 1st or take Monday off and travel then. Golf is

scheduled for Dayton Valley on Saturday and Sunridge on Sunday, both beautiful

layouts. We have a two night, two golf day package with a dinner on Saturday

night plus breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday. The standard package includes

lodging, golf, two breakfasts and Saturday dinner. We have both single and dou-

ble occupancy available. We will be staying at the Gold Dust Resort Hotel and

Casino. The rates are as follow: Standard package:

Junior Suite: Dble Occ. $250/person, Single Occ. $340/person

(double queens or king available)

If you want to get in early and play golf, we have a “bonus” round available at

Silver Oak, for an additional $50. Additional nights’ stays are available through

Gold Dust West.

Any questions, please e mail Dwight Pattison at [email protected]

or call at 916-714-3010 Monday thru Friday, 8-5 Pacific Time.
