Football season is in full swing and I can clearly see all the battle lines drawn in our Community. We have Seminole fans, Gator fans, and of course UCF fans. October of course also means Halloween is spookily close. We look forward to having lots of fun for Oktoberfest as well. Here are a few little jokes to ring in your October.

• What would you get if you crossed a vampire and a teacher? Lots of blood tests! • Why did Dracula’s mother give him cough medicine? Because he was having a coffin fit.• Why did the vampire’s lunch give him heartburn? It was a stake sandwich. • Dracula decided he need a dog, which breed did he choose? A bloodhound.• What would you call the ghost of a door-to-door salesman? A dead ringer.• What do skeletons always order at a restaurant? Spare ribs!

Experience will be here to Trick or Treat with our Resident’s. Please pick up some candy for your loved one to hand out if they want to participate

and dress up in a costume. Robin Wolfe DRS generally runs to Sam’s Club to buy candy for residents who

have an activity fund. Later that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. we will host our

Costume contest & Halloween Party for residents and staff.

Spring Hills Lake Mary launches new family engagement & positive communications platform Smile is a new program that we are launching across Spring Hills Lake Mary to enhance the communication that exists between the families of our residents and our staff.

We have been working with CarexTech, Inc. a leading healthcare communications company founded by a University of Notre Dame Professor that focuses on the technology needs of senior living communities.

Smile gives families 24/7 access to their loved one’s daily activities and also allows our staff to securely send positive messages, pictures and videos to families. Family members will receive an email or text notification whenever there is a message from Spring Hills Lake Mary.

Communication is always a two way-street, so Smile also provides a way for families to connect with the caregivers and staff at Spring Hills Lake Mary. Using Smile, you can send messages, pictures, videos and music files to our staff to share with your family member. Smile also allows you to provide us with more personal information about your loved one through the life story section – like their greatest achievements or personal interests – that will help us get to know and serve them better.
