Royal Auping:a Dutch success story

In 1888 Johannes Auping, a blacksmith in the Dutch town ofDeventer, was commissioned to design a well-ventilated bed for the local hospital. In his workshop, Auping designed and built the first mesh-based bed.

That was the beginning of a success story and in 1988, exactly 100 years after that very firstbed, the Auping company was awarded the royal title “Koninklijk”. Today, Royal Auping is the largest independent bed manufacturer in the Netherlands, with 65 Auping stores in the Benelux and more in Germany, Scandinavia and many countries abroad offering the entire Auping range.

1. Maximum comfort – Asymmetric structure build-upIn the Auping mattresses, the various comfort zones have been built-up asymmetrically. After all, your head requires a different type of support as compared to your hip. This is why we use different springs for different areas. In this way, the mattress offers your body the exact support it needs, also making it easy for you to turn while asleep. This translates into supple joints and a sublime night’s rest. Unique DPPS® pocket springsAuping mattresses offer active ventilation and support, in part thanks to the asymmetrical shape of the DPPS® springs. The Auping Vivo mattress has a special comfort layer that can absorb or carry away excess heat. Its temperature regulating and ventilating properties match your personal requirements. Washable tickingSome Auping mattresses have a removable ticking that can be machine washed or dry cleaned for extra hygiene. This removable ticking also incorporates Tencel®. Tencel fi bre is extremely soft and has a nice and cool touch. Its ventilating properties ensure that moisture is quickly absorbed and transported, reducing the survival chances for bacteria and dust mites to almost zero. The result: a fresh and comfortable mattress and a hygienic and healthy sleeping climate.

3D knitted materialIn two of the many Auping mattress models, the core is covered with a 3D knitted material with fl exible shoulder part, especially developed for Auping. In the double-sized mattresses you have a choice of one single core of the same fi rmness (all mattresses), or of two separate cores, meaning two different degrees of fi rmness in one mattress (Cresto, Maestro, Vivo, Cresto Visco and Maestro Visco).

Single and double-size mattressesAll new Auping mattresses are available in a single or a double bed version. In addition, the Cresto, Maestro, Vivo, Cresto Visco and Maestro Visco mattresses are available in double bed sizes with two separate cores inside. This means that you can select two different, personalised degrees of fi rmness in one mattress.

Auping pillowsIndispensable support for a good night’s sleep

Sleeping well is not only a question of having a good bed and mattress. Your pillow plays a very important role as well. A pillow must support your neck and head in such a way that your neck muscles can fully relax. However, preferences differ and this applies to sleeping comfort as well. For example, do you suffer from allergies? Do you perspire a great deal at night? Is it your preference to sleep on your stomach, back or side? Or do you require additional neck support? No problem: Auping offers you a choice from no less than 10 pillows, each with its own specifi c comfort properties. This means that you will always fi nd an Auping pillow that suits you perfectly. Traditional latex or Talalay® latex?Latex adjusts to your body and keeps your pillow nicely resilient. The difference between the traditional version and the so-called Talalay® latex primarily lies in the fact that the latter breathes somewhat better. This means that your pillow stays even fresher.

Auping Air SyntheticTencel®’s benefi cial comfortThe top surface of the Auping Climat pillow consists of Tencel®. This 100% natural fi bre (eucalyptus wood) is exceptionally strong, has a silky-soft feeling and provides optimal ventilation. The hollow fi bre core absorbs moisture - a synthetic fi bre is not capable of this - and then releases it quickly. Result: a dry, comfortable pillow that is pleasant to the touch at any time of the year.

More or less fi llingWould you like a down or synthetic pillow with a higher or denser fi lling? Or rather lower or thinner? The quality of down is primarily determined by its fi lling strength. The better the fi lling strength, the higher the down’s ability to retain air and the better its insulating properties.

Your body temperature is important for a good night’s sleep. You do not want to be too cold in bed, nor too warm. Proper discharge of perspiration through means of optimal ventilation is essential for keeping your body at the right temperature. The system, not only incorporated into all Auping bed bases and mattresses, but in all Auping pillows and duvets as well, provides you with an excellent sleeping climate.

The product assortment comprises 10 different duvets fi lled with materials ranging from white Siberian goose down or European duck down to high-quality synthetic fi bres that are available in versions ranging from airy cotton or down summer duvets to warm 4-season duvets.

Auping down duvetsAuping down duvets are extremely light and airy. This is because down is a high-volume material and therefore has a low fi lling weight. A quick shake up and it once again becomes wonderfully airy. A luxurious feeling that must be experienced personally.
