Meet Head Coach Eamonn Condon

Condon is a former participant in the Irish National Championships, and Head Coach of the cross country program at Mesa Community College. Prior to coming to Mesa in 2007, the Ahwatukee resident coached at Gateway Community College.

At Gateway, his runners had three top 10 finishes in National Junior College Athletic Association men's competition.

Condon competed in collegiate and club cross country meets and had a ninth-place fin-ish in the National Marathon in his native Ireland. He migrated to the United States in 1991 and has held positions with major companies in the fields of travel and computer technology. He holds degrees from Dublin College of Commerce and Western Ontario University.

Eamonn is in his fifth year as head cross country coach in 2011 at Mesa Community Col-lege. Prior to joining the Thunderbirds, many of his athletes have earned All-American honors and have gone on to further success in NCAA and USTAF competitions.

His stated goal is to recruit the best distance runners in Arizona and develop them into athletes that can compete at the highest levels. In doing so, he expects the Mesa men's and women's cross country teams to become perennial challengers for NJCAA National Championship honors.

At Skyline: A four-year runner for the Coyotes. Also played basketball.Personal: Michaela Begaye was born Aug. 27, 1994 in Mesa, AZ. She is a Kinesiology major and the daughter of Patrick and Val-erie Begaye.

At Mesa: Won Mesa's MacDonald Award as a freshman. Earned a Scholastic Diploma. A member of HOSA, Biotech Academy and the orchestra.Personal: Sabrina Beck was born April 19, 1994 in Chandler, AZ. The daughter of Bill and Theresa Beck is a Biology major. She has three brothers: James, 16; Will, 20 and Nate, 31. Volunteers at Central Christian Church and with a food and nutrition group. She is the daughter of Shawn and Jennifer Wood and has not yet declared her major. She has three sisters: Stephanie, 14; Kristy, 13 and Jessie, 9 and a brother Scott, 10.

The team was the state runners-up in Division II and he was all-city Casa Grande. A member of the National Society of High School Scholars.Personal: Mike Campos was born Nov. 12, 1993 in Casa Grande, AZ. He is an Exercise Health major and is the son of Steve and Maria Campos. Few, if any, NJCAA schools have had the overall success of the Mesa Community College athletic program. Through the end of the 2011-12 season, MCC teams had won 16 national championships in seven different sports, either won or shared 127 conference and region titles and have produced an amazing number of individual accomplishments. MCC athletes have won All-America recognition an incredible 242 times including athlets from every sport the school sponsors. As recently as 2007 Mesa won the Pepsi Cup, emblematic of the top overal athletic program in the NJCAA.
