Merton DraftHealth and Wellbeing Strategy
• Provides the focus for the partnership work of the Health and Wellbeing Board and determines its areas of influence.
• Central to informing the commissioning of health and social care and other services.
• A statutory requirement under the Health and Social Care Act
Our vision for health and wellbeing
• By working with communities and residents, to increase the opportunities for all adults and children to enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life and reduce health inequalities
Health inequality in Merton
• Merton residents are generally healthy and health outcomes
• However there remain stark differences in health between areas.
• Most strikingly there is a gap in life expectancy of nearly nine years for men, and over eleven years for women, between the least and the most deprived areas of Merton.
