If you need a little inspiration, we’ve put together some handy
ideas and tips to help you prepare.
Five simple steps to get Christmas quizzing…
Your Kidney Research UK
Christmas quiz 2020 guide.
It’s super easy to be a host – all you need to do is:
1. Sign up, create your JustGiving page, pick a date and time.
2. Invite all of your colleagues, friends and family to donate to your
fundraising page to enter.
3. Gear them up for a fabulous festive time! Why not get them to wear their
fun Christmas jumper, or get them to bake some festive goodies.
4. With six exciting festive rounds including Christmas, music, picture and
general knowledge rounds, the quiz has already been made for you by
Kidney Research UK.
5. Take a look at the fundraising resources on our website that will help you
make your Christmas quiz a success. And, you’ll also receive emails with
useful tips, info and reminders and, of course, oodles of encouragement
from us.
Step 1: Be the perfect host!
Each team will need:
A laptop, tablet or smartphone
A good internet connection
Nominate a team leader to operate the technology
Step 2: How to run your online quiz.
There are numerous video platforms that you can
consider for hosting your Christmas quiz, for example:
Zoom - Microsoft Teams - Facebook Live - WhatsApp - Houseparty - Skype
Many of these platforms offer a free option however be aware there may be
certain restrictions or other costs.
If you are hosting a quiz with your work friends, check with your work to see if they already have a subscription to a particular platform.
Feel free to use whichever platform is best for you and your group.
Step 3: Pick a platform.
We’ve provided the quiz questions, so all you need to do is:
• Make sure your teams have a pen and a paper to write the answers down
• Plan for 10-15 minutes per round and allow time for everyone to give their
answers
• Ensure 10 minute breaks for refreshments and snacks!
• During the break you could hold a raffle or sweepstake, judge the best
dressed, worst dressed teams, or fun team name and give bonus points or
even make the worst team sing a Christmas song as a forfeit and ask for
extra donations!
Feel free to add in your own round – it’s completely up to you!
Step 4: Prepare for your quiz.
Don’t forget to keep reminding your colleagues, friends and family about the quiz
If it’s on Zoom or Teams send them the link ahead of time.
Keep sharing your JustGiving fundraising page and tell everyone about your running total so that to remind everyone to donate.
Share on all of your social media channels, even to those who can’t attend, they can still make a gift!
Arrange a prize for the winning team, and a wooden spoon for the losing team –
this could be a forfeit to sing a Christmas song and make an extra donation to raise some more cash!
Finally, have fun, it’s Christmas after all! And don’t forget to take lots of pictures,
