TERM DATES
2018/2019
Christmas is fast approaching and we
have thoroughly enjoyed the
festivities this year at The Meadows.
Students have enjoyed Carols around
the tree, Christmas dinner, decorating
the corridors, a whole school
homework project and Winter Fair
preparations.
We are incredibly proud of student
achievements this term, it has been a
fantastic start to the academic year.
I would like to wish you all a happy
and healthy Christmas break and I
look forward to seeing you in the New
Year.
Sam Forbes
Interim Headteacher
The students in classes 5.3 and 5.4
have enjoyed thinking about what
the future of Christmas might look
like. They decided that in the future,
decorations would need to be
recycled and reused each
Christmas. They also think that
Father Christmas will need some
help - he will need drones and
be robotic so that he can keep up
with the amount of presents he
needs to deliver. Take a look at
some of our ideas:
Christmas Jumper Day.
On Friday 14th December staff and students across the school participated Christmas Jumper Day, for ’Save the Children’ charity.
There were some fantastic jumpers, hats and t-shirts from the students and a great festive atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the charity.
We raised a grand total of £100.65.
On Friday 30th November
2018, The Meadows School
celebrated St Andrews Day.
Throughout the day the
students had lots of fun
preparing Scottish food to be
enjoyed in their corridor party.
They decorated the corridors
with flags and bunting, made
Scottish hats and sampled
Scottish music with a visiting
bagpipe player.
Your creative decorations really brightened
up our Christmas Tree’s this year! What a
wonderful whole school effort.
WHOLE SCHOOL
HOMEWORK PROJECT
The Snowdome Trip
Students and staff had a wonderful
time at the Snowdome’s Winter
Wonderland on Monday 10th
December. The trip was fully funded
by the Co-Op, we can’t thank them
enough for their generosity yet
again and for providing our
students with this wonderful
experience.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year from all of the
staff at The Meadows School.
Winter Fair 2018
On Saturday 8th December, The
Meadows School welcomed
families and community partners
into school for the Winter Fair.
What a huge success it was, with
over 40 stalls, festive games and
food for all to enjoy.
The event raised an AMAZING
£1281, which will be used
towards the refurb of our
outdoor areas.
Thank you to all who donated,
purchased raffle tickets and
supported on the day - your
generosity and kindness is
greatly appreciated by all.
Our sixth form enjoyed hosting an Enterprise
Day on Monday 3rd December, we certainly
had some happy shoppers taking away
handmade items. Well done everyone!
