copper-gold mine, part of the environmen-tal-assessment application process, will beheld tomorrow, June 16, at the KamloopsTowne Lodge, 5-9pm. The mine, part of the old AftonMine, is to be located just south of the citylimits in Aberdeen, and stretches west tothe Coquihalla Hwy. selected as the new non-profit operatorfor Trade Winds Terrace, BC Housing's29-unit affordable housing developmentfor seniors and persons with disabilities.
They will relocate their offices toTrade Winds, which will allow them toconsolidate and enhance the servicesthey deliver for the homeless and thosein need, now available five days a week.
ASK Wellness is a non-profit societyproviding awareness, education, advo-cacy, housing, and support related toHIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, marginaliza-
tion and persons at risk, in order todevelop healthier communities.ASK Wellness also currently operates
the Henry Leland House and CrossroadsInn in Kamloops. To date, nearly 100homeless people in Merritt have beenprovided stable housing optionsthrough their delivery of services.

Goes toshow that even small behaviouralchanges can add up to make a difference.During game 6 Monday night, BCHydro reported an average of 4% reduc-tion in the provincial electricity use for
the duration of the game. The highestreduction of the playoffs, 5.6%, was dur-ing game 3 of the Canucks/Bruins series.
Now, theyre challenging BritishColumbians to top that and reduce ener-gy use by 6% tonight during game 7!
