Branding issue back before the public Merritt, we wanted it, so now let’s do it! A brand tagline survey in both print (pick up at & return to City Hall) and on- line (navigate to the survey from www.merritt.ca) was launched late last Friday to get input from residents and stakeholders in the Merritt nicola Valley to weigh in on 3 options presented by the TOTA brand team as a result of research to date, and feedback from the Open House on March 12. The 3 options are: Country inspired, Proud to be Country, Country with Spirit The survey closes May 9 at 3pm, in preparation for the open houses set for Monday May 12, 7pm & Tuesday May 13, 1pm (please only choose one), at the Civic Centre. You’ll be able to give input on brand direction, proposed tag lines and signage. no RSVP required. Firefighter boot camp starts The new recruits — about 85 fire- fighter candidates — will be in town this week for the spring training "boot camp". They’ll test their physical stamina and mental toughness with the hope of join- ing BC’s world-class firefighting crews. Their base of operations is Merritt’s Provincial wildfire Training Centre, opened last year, adjacent to the airport. Community Baillie House Garden Festival May 24, 10am-2pm.
