Concept The proposed design will focus on the importance of biophilia in hospitality settings by using color
theory and sound therapy to improve and ease the overall recovery process. To provide for the
wellbeing of the patients the facility will incorporate features such as air quality control systems, visual
connections between the indoors and outdoors, and natural light. The concept of sound therapy will
be used to achieve a state of harmony and balance for the patients and staff. Thus my concept will
branch off sound therapy and the rhythm of nature by using texture that represents the outdoors.

Concept
The space will contain elements of the arctic, and aspects of the different animals through the use of different colors, such as blues, oranges, whites, blacks, greens and yellows. The space will contain reflective properties through glass and metal to resemble ice. Strength will be emphasized through highlighting structural elements, with different textures and magnitude. The unity is shown through glass partitions throughout the building allowing spaces to be open and closed to one another.

The inspiration for my concept is the colorful, playful, and adventurous board game, Candy Land. I want to bring the board game to life in a sensational, nostalgic experience. I am inspired to create a bright, open, imaginative experience exploring the different candies. The adventure of the candy will create a path to follow throughout the
store.

B.P. Designs
There is an inherent theme in nature which is the juxtaposition of its natural elements. The adjacent trees with the earth and the leaves juxtapose with the branches. I want to utilize this theme in the design of my office by juxtaposing organic forms with other design elements such as textured materials with smooth surfaces.

The concept for this design will explore the flowing movement of the art of trapeze while also embracing the essence of a child’s imagination. Inspiration will be taken from the strength, grace, and flexibility of the artists and related to the inhabitants of the space. Similar to the artists, the students, parents, and staff can relate to the emotion of risk taking as they enter the emotional journey of education. The experience of the space reflects the practice of trapeze as the inhabitants continue to grow and learn with the support of the learning environment.
Concept Inclusive schools: “for young children, where diversity is celebrated and all are free to learn and grow.”
• A 15,000 square foot preschool that will accommodate approximately 100 students.
• The five classrooms will be able to meet the needs of 80 full
time preschool students, with a 1 to 12 teacher/ student ratio. • An additional 20 children will be accommodated with a before
and after school program.
• A more universally designed building to meet all children’s physical, cognitive and emotional needs.
• Areas in the space where services can be provided to qualify
children within the community that are born with an obvious delay from birth right up to first grade.
• Meeting areas where communication between the professional
and medical staff, and increased team meetings with parents where everyone can be present at the same time.
• Offices for onsite testing, evaluations, assessments and
therapies to detect and address early learning difficulties or disabilities.
• A multi-purpose room for family support where team support
with onsite professionals and evening educational meetings can be held at the school.
• Classrooms for early morning and afterschool programs to
accommodate working parents.
