scripture we are constantly reminded of how vital
agreement is in strengthening the body of believers and
unlocking the power of purpose.
Foreword“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1)
Unity. It is perhaps one of the most critical instruc-
tions for Christians and churches. Throughout
In 2009, our church theme was “Commanding The Blessing
Through Unity: A Force of One.” Together, there isn’t any-
thing we can’t accomplish. Connected, we all win. This
theme birthed a desire in my spirit to truly bring together
the body, from the head to the feet, so we could all learn,
grow and share as one.
This year the Inspiring Temple of Praise Church (ITOP)
held its first ever “Merging Hearts Pastor and Leadership
Summit” in Fort Worth, Texas. The hope of the summit is to provoke continuity between pastors, secondary
leadership and laypeople by equipping them with the necessary tools for interpreting the leader’s vision.
Then, taking it a step further and challenging each individual to apply these skills to his or her area of ministry.
From Fine Arts and Finance to Security and Marketing, each department strengthens the other and increases
the efficacy of the overall ministry when properly aligned with the head.
The “Merging Hearts Ministry Toolkit” is the informational guide for the summit. Each ITOP ministry leader
has translated their experiences into easy-to-use reference materials that covers the major areas of church
ministry. Our goal is to give you standards, hints, insights and key considerations as a resource for imple-
menting in your own unique way.
I pray that you will be strengthened to be a more effective leader and member of ministry. For we know that
the sweetest fruit in the Kingdom can only be reached as one body working together in divine unity.
Blessed and highly favored!

About ITOP
Bishop Reginald Jordan founded the Inspiring Temple of Praise Church, better known as ITOP, in 1996 with 12members in the living room of his home. Since then, the church has grown to more than 1,500 members andbecome an influential part of the Fort Worth community.
At ITOP, members experience dynamic worship, practical teaching, inspirational praise, ministry programs tomeet their needs and engaging youth activities. The ministry strives to be a family where real people can expectreal love. ITOP is a place for new beginnings where unity is a priority. In the words of Bishop Jordan: “Unity isthe key in the kingdom that unlocks success, peace, prosperity, identity, purpose and power."
The church mission is simple and God-inspired:
To inspire the world through preaching, teaching, praise, worship, prayer and demonstration of heavenly things here on Earth.
Every ITOP service is an encounter to worship and seek God. Each ministry program has been designed to em-power the Body of Christ with the knowledge of God’s uncompromised gospel to accomplish the following:
To lead men, women, boys and girls to Christ.
To make disciples of them that are led to Christ.
To bring them into the unity of the faith.
To equip everyone with anchoring truth so that they’re no longer tossed to and fro, with every wind and doc-trine.
ITOP started as one man’s vision to serve and glorify God. This has evolved into a number of ministry areas, including a full scale book store, state-of-the-art audio and visual capabilities, drama and dance teams, dedi-cated administrative support, professional marketing and public relations management, executive level financialreporting and other areas of excellence.

INSIGHTS
I was hired as the Director of Finance in July 2007 and have been active for two years. The ministry was in
need of many improvements. The books were not current. Reports were not being generated. There were
systems in place however they were not effectively maintained. The office was disorganized and audit controls
were not properly followed.
Today, the entire team is on one accord and with the same goal. We work together effectively through the proc-
esses and disciplines in place to accomplish the goal. Each volunteer or employee is a faithful tither. We are all
cross-trained in the duties and support each other.
Mistakes do happen. There was a week where some of the contributions were overlooked and not recorded. To
make adjustments, we conducted a staff meeting to talk about what we could do more of, better, less of or differ-
ent to ensure the errors did not persist and to operate efficiently.
I lead by example. It is required that we work as a team at all times. In order to get the job done we have to beon one accord. All duties are cross-pollinated with each staff member. Reward and recognition is a must andcommunication is top priority.
Being in an excellent financial position gives ITOP an opportunity to seed into other ministries, give to the needy
and provide all the amenities of the church.

MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The pastor, the finance staff, the
public and the ministry as a whole.
In their desire to: Keep the flow, order, discipline and
unity within the boundaries of ministry.
By means of: Communication, sharing information, inter-
action, and serving the ministry with character, a disci-
plined heart, mind, attitude, and foster unity in an excellent
manner .
INSIGHTS
I am a charter member of ITOP and was appointed to this position by Bishop Jordan in March of 1996.
My ministry is one that gives a first impression of the ministry as a whole and representation of Bishop Jordan by
way of communication in person or by phone. It also serves as the eyes and ears of the ministry.
My role as secretary has not changed much since the inception of the ministry. I have always been responsible
for the administrative and legal documents for the ministry. I am and have always been the contact/liaison per-
son between ministries and communicating with business/vendors. I respond to the phone calls and designate
calls to the appropriate area.
I hope to be a means of support administratively, spiritually, professionally and personally. I hope that by my
showing love, empathy, understanding, a willingness to listen and to avail myself in all of my functions to the
work of the ministry, I will be able to encourage others and foster unity.
My success is based on total dependency on God and acting and responding in love, confidentiality, integrity,
commitment, dedication and wisdom. I have insight into the vision and expectations of Bishop.I can’t read his
mind, but I can flow in and walk in the level of expectancy that has been placed upon the ministry and know that
it can only increase, rather than decrease. If I am uncertain, I am not too proud or ashamed to ask questions for
clarity.

A Prayer For The Ministry
During our 1998 – 1999 season we held ourfirst Pastor and Wife’s Appreciation Service. It was understood that each ministry would do
something, but there was no planning involved.
Leadership had decided that we would rent a limou-sine to pick the first family up from their home andreturn them back. The program went as planned andwhen it was time for their presentations, the ministriesbegan coming up in an order that could have onlybeen planned by God. It started with the SundaySchool, from the latter to the older classes, then itwent to the various ministries— youth, men, women, choir, etc.
The gifts included items to take care of the house, money, ministry materials and large quantities of oliveoil. Wagons and carts were used to bring the items inand the spirit was so high. It was a sight to behold.
Bishop Jordan cried throughout the whole processand they were so overwhelmed by it all, that they re-fused to allow us to do it again until several yearslater.
It was so awesome how things just fell into place andleadership along with their ministries gave so liberallyto the cause.

MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The people of God to support the
pastor’s vision.
In their desire to: Create an atmosphere conducive for
Holy Spirit to dwell.
By means of: Songs of praise and worship.
KEY DUTIES
1. Communicate with directors and praise and worship lead-ers to discuss observances, review services, offer con-structive criticisms, and etc.
2. Search for new music.
3. Prepare music, praise and worship, and musical selec-tions for all worship services
4. Prepare music for all rehearsals
5. Practice
6. Consecration
INSIGHTS
I’ve been active for 6 years. The Music Ministry was in a great place when I first started. It was very powerful,
anointed, and encouraging. There was a high standard set in place for the Music Ministry. We are simply trying
to raise the bar as we move into the future. We are moving to a deeper level with God in our worship, our
praise, and our music.
Through the vehicle of music, we give God our praise and worship in order to support the vision of ITOP. Westrive to do so in a demonstrative fashion that creates an atmosphere that provokes the collective body to offerup its best praise and most sincere worship.
Our vision statement is: We desire to use the gifts God has given us through music to lead people closer to
God. We want to set a favorable atmosphere in order to prepare hearts and minds to receive the Word of God.
We desire to use our voices and instruments to glorify God, edify the Body of Christ, and be useful vessels for
Kingdom purpose.
Unfortunately, the Music Ministry does not have the luxury of constant failure. We once missed the mark during
praise and worship on a Sunday morning. We were presenting a new piece called “Magnify”. The song started
off as planned, but quickly turned for the worse when words were scattered and cues were missed collectively. It
was a train wreck, but we had to keep going because we still had a job to do and an atmosphere to create. We
quickly went to the next song and regained our footing. We later took the time to rehearse and perfect the song
and ministered it again.

How does this ministry
measure success?
Success is measured in several different ways. One way is
by a brief scan of the church, assessing body language and
the church’s interaction with the choir. Whether it be hands
raised, standing, following the directions of the lyrics or
even a change in facial expression, it all provides a glimpse
into how praise effects the body.
Skills, training and experience
required to work in this ministry:
1. Be able to sing/play skillfully (Psalms 33:3).
2. Be able to multi-task.
3. Be able to teach and be taught.
4. Need to be strong mentally, and deal with people and their
issues on a consistent basis.

““INSIGHTS (cont’d)
Every so often, we will have sessions after rehearsals where we communicate Bishop’s vision via discussion. We will point out examples from previous services or events, and use those situations for enlightenment andencouragement. It allows us to re-focus and re-calibrate ourselves to remain in compliance with the vision.
I genuinely care about the overall welfare of the ministry. Music is a very powerful tool during a worship service,
and in everyday life. I take my gift very seriously – I’m passionate, personable, and am willing to work with oth-
ers who are like minded in ministering through the gift of music. I believe those qualities have contributed to my
success, and are necessary to be successful in any music ministry.
Jermaine Marshall
Director of Music, ITOP
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were
as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and
thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice
with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music,
and praised the LORD, saying for He is good; for His
mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled
with a cloud, even the house of the LORD.

TRUE STORY
During the weeks leading up to Bishop Jor-dan’s consecration, the music ministry had noclue of the song selections that would be re-
quested. We received word of the requested songsabout 2 weeks prior to the service– roughly 4 “choir”selections and 4 hymns. We had just hired a newdirector/praise & worship leader, and had to learn andteach all of the music to the entire Churches in Cove-nant (CIC) mass choir in 2 rehearsals.
Leading up to the first re-hearsal – literally 30 minutesprior to – the selections keptchanging! Nevertheless, Sis.Latoya (Director/Praise &Worship Leader) and I putwork in learning and teachingall of the material. The masschoir focused and was able topick up each and every selec-
tion. Not only did we all come together to learn all wedid, but also we were able to present each song withpassion and excellence.
It took a lot of sacrifice to prepare the music consider-ing our limited rehearsal time and unfamiliarity with acouple of the hymns. The light at the end of the tun-nel looked very dim, but the CIC music ministry as awhole banded together in order to pull off what weourselves didn’t think we could do.
I’m grateful for the many giftings that were able tocome together and operate as a “force of one” toachieve the ultimate goal. I was very proud of ourMusic Ministry, as well as the entire CIC Music Minis-try for allowing God to use us in such a mighty way. That was an experience I’ll never forget.
Jermaine
Father, give us the wisdom, strength, and courage that we
need to equip us to be a light unto your people. Help us
continue to work together as a unit so that as we minister
through song, a single and powerful voice is heard instead of
many. Continue to guide us, so that we may keep our focus
on you and not on ourselves. Use us so that we effectively
present your love, kindness, grace, and mercy - and so that we
represent your Kingdom in a mighty way.
Amen.

Dance & DRAMAPraise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

MISSION
Our goal is to serve: God and the people through creative
arts.
In their desire to: Be liberated in their expression of praise
unto God.
By means of: Totally surrendering through the vehicle of
fine arts.
KEY DUTIES
1. Weekly rehearsals
2. Lead praise and worship twice per month
3. Participate in events of local churches and programs
4. Collaborate with other ministries to fulfill the needs of the
house
INSIGHTS
The Fine Arts Department is led by three individuals working collectively to uphold the standards of the set
leader of the house. Together our love for God and the arts has allowed us to labor in the ministry over ten
years. By teaching and sharing the collective gifts, and edifying Christ our mission supports the vision of ITOP.
The ministry was well on its way when we started. It was more so theatrics with the dance. We had two separate
days for rehearsals, the teens and the youth on Thursdays and the adults on Mondays. The teens were the only
group that danced during praise and worship and we were all separate entities within one ministry. Now the min-
istry has unified more. We have one rehearsal day for all three groups (teens, youth, and adults). Both the teens
and the adults dance for praise and worship combined.
We dance on more of a technical level now. We are learning the art and history of dance and connect that to our
love for God. We fellowship with outside ministries. The Fine Arts Ministry is more consistent in being before the
people, and are flexible with our members allowing them to partake in other ministries.
We are constantly improving. Easter Sunday of 2009, the Fine Arts department presented a skit that did not
meet the standards of the house. We received constructive criticism and took ownership for our short comings.
We went back to the drawing board and became a more structured, organized unit by proper planning.
Our hopes for the ministry going forward would be to continue to focus on the spiritual aspect of dance and
drama. We hope to continually work with other ministries (i.e., Music Department) to take praise and worship to
higher heights.

The CIC Anniversary Service of 2009 was by farthe proudest moment we have experiencedthus far. At that moment we were living the
2009 theme “Commanding the Blessings ThroughUnity: A Force of One.”
We managed to bring together young ladies from oursister churches showcasing their different talents andpersonalities all with one common purpose. We hadone rehearsal, and in that one rehearsal the HolySpirit showed Himself mightily.
We came together on one accord and operated as ifwe had been doing this for years. The presentationwas a huge success. Not only were the people en-couraged and blessed, but we in the ministry werealso encouraged and blessed from the fellowshipalone.
The event set the standard for things to come.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your ever-present
glory that you have bestowed upon us as a ministry. We ask
that you continue to keep us unified in our aspirations to
minister effectively to your people. God we pray that you are
always the focal point of our praise and worship. We will
constantly keep you first in all that we do.
Amen.

Our goal is to serve: The people of God.
In their desire to: Worship, learn and fellowship in a safe

By means of: Protection.
KEY DUTIES
1. Secure the building
2. Protect the visionary
3. Escort and keep watch over member’s walking to theircars at night.
4. Watch for unexpected guests who may have a question-able agenda.
INSIGHTS
I was asked to take over the Security Ministry at the beginning of the year. Initially, the team was low in number,
essentially 2 people were performing all of the duties. We have grown to include various security teams that ro-
tate regularly. In the future we hope to grow a core group of members and implement a training program.
The most critical part of this ministry is recruiting and retaining dependable members and ensuring everyone ison the same page. We keep the church’s vision alive by working as one unit.
I remember one of my proudest moments working in security. It was a night service and a guest mentioned how
impressed they were with how we covered the parking lot.
Our biggest impact on the church is keeping unexpected people and events from disturbing the worship experi-ence. Members should expect to worship here in a safe atmosphere.

your Word may pour forth, we pray that you be glorified in all
we do. We ask that this house be a place where worshipers

In their desire to: To effectively minister the Word of God

By means of: Preaching, teaching and worship
KEY DUTIES
1.Cover the man/woman of God on a consistent basis, physically and in prayer.
2. Develop the heart and mind of the man/woman of God
3. Create an atmosphere so that the man/woman of Godmay be protected, yet comfortable.
INSIGHTS
The Armor Bearer Ministry strives to serve the First Family with excellence so that the Word of God may be min-
istered in an excellent and effective manner. We ensure that those serving in ministry are prepared to go before
the people offering ministry in an excellent way.
I was selected by Bishop Jordan to serve as the Chief Armor Bearer. I have been actively involved in an armor
bearer position for 14 years total but I have been the Chief Armor Bearer at ITOP for 5 months.
The armor bearers are respected throughout ITOP and CIC. I have defined the ministry roles of the armor bear-ers and placed them in proper position as the arms, eyes and ears of Bishop Jordan. In return, the First Familyhas developed a sense of comfort with those serving.
We are always growing. Bishop Jordan felt that there was a time that the Armor Bearers should have been serv-
ing, when they failed to serve. The ministry was able to hear the concern of Bishop Jordan, reevaluate our com-
mitment to him and the First Family and increase our level of service to ensure that their needs were met.
I communicate Bishop’s vision by keeping it before the team. I provide constant training and dialogue with the
team to ensure that everyone is on one accord and understands what it is they are to accomplish.

INSIGHTS
The ITOP Deacons Ministry seeks to serve the Inspiring Temple of Praise Church family in any capacity needed,
within the church during worship services or in the community, operating in unity and excellence to support,
serve, and uplift those in need.
The Deacons Ministry was first established in 2001, with the first ordination service held in 2003. Bishop Jordan
asked me to consider serving in the position of deacon and after serving faithfully and completing the catechism,
I was ordained as a deacon in December, 2005, along with two of my brothers and one sister in the ministry.
When I joined the Deacons Ministry, there were six men already operating in the ministry. I was one of two fe-
males ordained as a deacon. From that time until now, the whole makeup of the ministry has changed. Of the
original six, only three remain and of my ordination class of four, three of us remain active in the ministry. Also,
deacons ordained in other ministries have come to join with the ITOP Deacons Ministry, for a total of ten or-
dained deacons at this time. For the future, I hope for the Deacons Ministry to continue to grow, both numeri-
cally and spiritually. I would like for us to become more indoctrinated in the ministry and take initiative on a more
consistent basis.
The Ministry supports the overall ITOP vision by availing itself to serving the needs of the people in unity and
excellence. This ministry is the embodiment of “A Force of One.” Each deacon has his or her unique gifts, abili-
ties, and expertise to offer to the Body of Christ, but we operate as a single unit. Whether serving during a fu-
neral, overseeing building security, or making hospital visits, we work together to accomplish the established
goals of the ministry.

“INSIGHTS (cont’d)
Deacons Ministry meets on the 5th Sunday mornings at 9am. During this time, we reiterate the vision and any-
thing that has been discussed or taken place since the prior meeting. We make sure that everyone understands
the vision, is operating in sync with the vision, and is encouraging others to do the same. I keep it alive by re-
hearsing it and demonstrating it in love.
The single most important impact the Deacons Ministry makes on the overall church is to relieve the leaders and
laypeople from the burdens of daily ministry activities. We do the legwork in the church and, oftentimes, sacri-
fice our worship experience so others do not have to. From securing the building to mowing the lawn to mop-
ping floors, Deacons Ministry gets their hands and feet dirty to keep everyone else from having to take care of it.

Definition of A Deacon
The proudest moment I have experienced thusfar in Deacons Ministry was when we had theBishopric Consecration service in September
2008. There were a myriad of things that did notwork as they were supposed to and the Deacons Min-istry had to step it up a notch and do what we dobest.
Prior to the service, we had meetings both withBishop Jordan alone and with the facilitating Bishopdetailing what was expected of us. I was given thecharge of meeting with the ITOP Deacons Ministryand also the CIC Deacons from several churches tobring us into one accord on serving during this time.It was an overwhelming task, but one that I acceptedgladly.
The day before the service was to be held, thingschanged once again, and we had to move the loca-tion back to ITOP. On a Friday night, with a moment’s notice, Deacons Ministry went to work transportingequipment, furniture, and supplies from one locationto another and transforming the sanctuary, class-rooms, and fellowship hall, into a place of service forthe consecration. This included everything fromcleaning, vacuuming, to moving chairs/tables, andsetting up rooms. And then we had to return to thesame place by 8 a.m. the very next morning.
Did we do it? Yes, we did. Was it a major feat to ac-complish? Yes, it was. Can Deacons do what needsto be done whenever it needs to be done? Yes, wecan and Yes, we will! Deacons Rock!

MISSION
Our goal is to serve: Ministers, parishioners, the church
and the community.
In their desire to: Have their physical hunger and thirst
quenched.
By means of: Preparing and serving nutritional food
KEY DUTIES
1. Schedule the preparation and cooking of meals.
2. Insure that sanitary practices are observed in thekitchen and storage areas.
3. Supervise and provide training to all members of thekitchen staff.
INSIGHTS
I worked in the Culinary Ministry when ITOP originated. In response to Bishop’s request I again dedicated my gift
of cooking to this ministry as the head servant. I have been active for approximately 1 year and 6 months.
We are dedicated to coordinating the preparation and serving of nutritional food with each ministry to keep the
body healthy so they are able to fulfill their mission. This facilitates the vision of unity within the Body of Christ
by working together for one common goal. The Culinary Ministry cannot be run by one person alone, it takes a
multitude of experienced and willing participants.
We enhanced the ministry by adding 4 additional cooks. We now are staffed with 5 cooks total. We reorganized
the kitchen and pantry for a more efficient work environment. We purchased additional tools and equipment, re-
stocked the pantry, and recruited dedicated volunteers to assist in the ministry.
One Tuesday night each month we serve those that attend bible study. It is very important because it opens the
door for an opportunity to fellowship with others in the Body of Christ, which is another avenue to foster unity.
In the future, we desire to expand the ministry by providing an alternative to dining out on Sunday by serving
families nutritional food for a lower cost than traditional restaurants. This would allow opportunity for all in the
ITOP family to fellowship as well as save money.
I continually talk about the church’s vision, and practice it by stepping up to assist my staff when there is a need.
I share the duties and enjoy working with my staff for the common goal.

2. Prepare for the arrival and stay of the First Family or spe-cial guest weekly by stocking supplies and availing staff towhatever needs arise.
3. Plan for all possibilities before, during and after an event.
INSIGHTS
I am unsure of where the ministry was when I started. The lines were not clearly defined as far as the Hospital-
ity/Armor Bearer roles were concerned. Both Hospitality and Armor Bearer serve a different purpose. Currently,
the role of the Hospitality Ministry is continually evolving. Though Hospitality’s primary responsibility is to be
generous and cordial to our First Family and guest, I am always looking for ways in which to make what we do
more efficient and excellent.
I was approached by a ministry leader concerning my level of service during our Annual Women’s Conference in
Spring of 2008. At such time, I was asked to meet with First Lady Alfreita Jordan to discuss serving in other ar-
eas of the ministry at ITOP. Upon our meeting, Pastor Alfreita explained that unlike some ministries, the Hospi-
tality Ministry is one in which you are selected to be a part of and that after observation during the aforemen-
tioned event, as well as weekly interactions, that both she and Bishop Jordan would like to extend and invitation
to me to lead the Hospitality Ministry. I have served as Hospitality leader since May 2008.
The Hospitality Ministry’s mandate is to be generous and cordial to our First Family and guest, offering a pleas-
ant and sustaining environment, so that those we serve feel a sense of belonging and an assurance that all of
their needs will be met so that they may minister effectively at all times.
I communicate the leadership’s vision to our team by reminding them of the reasons we are here, which is to
serve. We frequently discuss past and upcoming events and find ways in which we can serve the First Family
and guest more efficiently. I keep this alive by consistent communication with the team.
Hospitality truly matters and can make the single most difference between the relationships that are established
between our church and any guest that we my host.

INSIGHTS
The Extended Hands Ministry (ushers) provides love while serving in the spirit of excellence to promote unity. I
became involved with the Extended Hands Ministry over 8 years ago, after having the desire to serve the house
of God from cleaning to cooking and even serving the First Family. My desire was to serve the Lord with all my
heart.
When I started Extended Hands we were full of excitement and enthusiasm to serve the house of God, now we
are still excited but somewhat less enthused about serving. I would like to see the ministry grow with a few more
members to lighten the load on the dedicated workers that sacrifice weekly.
Extended Hands missed the mark on a Sunday evening at the Lord’s Supper. Bishop was ready for the congre-
gation to come around and all of Extended Hands were weeping with their heads bowed. I was called out for not
being prepared and affecting the atmosphere. We quickly had a meeting and from that point forward I communi-
cate with Bishop’s Armor Bearer to determine if the congregation will be walking around or if the deacons and
ministers will be serving. Everyone stands at attention as I stand in the middle of the isle and watch Bishop’s cue
to start serving the congregation.
Extended Hands’ most important impact on the overall church is how we show love to everyone that enters
ITOP. Bishop has always told us he does not desire for us to function like the old school ushers; to be sad faced,
mean and rude. Extended Hands will always greet each individual with a smile, hug them respectfully and show
them love at all times.

Women’sMinistry
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The entire church body of females.
In their desire to: To become the Godly, stable women
that God has designed them to become.
By means of: Applying the word of God to our lives,
searching the scriptures, being a doer of the word through
prayer.
KEY DUTIES
1. Facilitate the women’s fellowship services.
2. Making sure the meetings and events run smoothlyand in excellence.
3. Supporting teachers and event planners.
INSIGHTS
The Women’s Ministry has always been an active part of ITOP since its inception. I started in Women’s Ministry
over 12 years ago with First Lady Alfreita Jordan as her assistant. I would assist her with teaching as she
needed. The Women’s Ministry grew in attendance each Thursday night. There was a period that Lady Jordan
took on more and more responsibilities and Bishop Jordan came up with a creative idea based on Ecclesiastes
4:12: A Three-Fold Cord Ministry. This established that three people would share the ministry responsibilities
and consists of the Facilitator, the Teacher, and the Event Planner. This is working harmoniously.
I hope to see more of our women participate in the meetings, conferences, and social activities. We hope to be-
gan to have more outreach outings to visit women’s shelters, nursing facilities, conferences and build hope for
our young ladies to be a part of the Women’s Ministry in the future.
My mission supports the overall ITOP vision in being committed, faithful, and knowing the heart of my Bishop to
carry out the expectations of lining up with his vision. I teach what he has taught and carry myself with integrity,
implementing the vision to the women. We meet their needs with creative ideas, such as bible study, prayer, fel-
lowship, encouragement and social resources that will enhance their lives to the fullest.
Women are emotional beings, and we encourage one another to be real to deal with real life issues. We teach
them that the word will work when you work it. When the women of God walk in unity by loving one another, in-
stead of backbiting, gossiping and tearing one another down, we make a huge impact.

men’sMinistry
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The men of the church.
In their desire to: Be established in God and to walk in
their God-given kingship.
By means of: Teaching, exhorting, and by example.
KEY DUTIES
1. Pray without ceasing.
2. Calling all the meetings to order.
3. Keeping all records in order including minutes and offer-ings.
4. Study, pray and teach.
INSIGHTS
Our mission is to establish relationships and, in doing so, our desire is to bring men into the unity of the faith and
to become a force of one. The former leader moved on and somebody needed to step up to the plate and take
charge so I stepped up in doing so. I feel like my ministry will be enhanced by the experience. I have been over
this ministry for 2 years.
The Men’s Ministry was in good shape when I started. We had a good leader but when he left we kind of lost
some momentum. Now we are building some great relationships. We are learning each other’s tendencies and
learning how to love one another. In the future I hope for us to operate like a well-oiled machine doing ministry
and having fun together.
We measure success by getting the job at hand done whatever the obstacle and in doing so to God be the glory.
Failure is part of learning. We failed to go through the right channels to have one of our prayer breakfasts and
we had to postpone it. I’m trying to think before I react now and I was concerned about it, but we handled it well.
We are going to do a better job next time and get help from the proper people.
Our men are being more active and we are working at unity. We will take our rightful positions and our spouses
and children will see it, and God’s order can take precedence in all our lives as a result. The proudest moment
for me is when we do the Southside Project, giving food, clothes, and school supplies out to those in need in our
community.

YouthAnd afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
Joel 2:28
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: Youth.
In their desire to: Become better Christians and young
people after God’s heart.
By means of: Teaching the Word of God on a young per-
son’s level and having different youth activities.
KEY DUTIES
1. Teach the young people
2. Prepare monthly activities.
3. Meet with youth workers
4. Make sure young people are actively involved and that thechurch presents different activities for young people.
INSIGHTS
I first became involved in the Youth Ministry in 2006 as one of the youth workers. I assisted the former youth di-
rectors with teaching and activities. In the summer of 2009 I was placed as youth minister/director of the youth
department.
When I started as the director, the former youth department had very little connection with the youth of ITOP and
the culture of ITOP. At times, this caused activities, events and lessons not to line up with the needs of the
youth. At times our young people were left bored, uninspired, and unchallenged. Since I've taken over, I've tried
to meet the youth at their point of need and challenge them to live a life as Christ representatives. I’ve also tried
to bridge the gap between those of old and those of young. In the future I hope to challenge our youth to have
dreams, goals, aspirations, and live life to the fullest as Christians.
It is important as a leader that you funnel down the vision through policies, procedures, activities, lessons, and
by your walk alone. These things can only get us so far. One of the components that I added was listening to the
voices in the room. Whether it is the youth workers (those who have decided to work along with me) or the youth
( those who I serve).
As the director of the youth department, it is important that our department lines up with the vision and I give di-
rection to both workers and youth in order to accomplish this goal. It is also important that the youth hear my
voice and my direction in their lives and that I put certain activities and lessons in place that will bring about “A
Force of One”.
I have been blessed to have a wonderful staff. They have achieved and accomplished many things in their own
lives. It would be foolish of me not to allow them to give suggestions and their opinions.

As leaders, there are times when the well runs dry and we need fresh ideas to change it up a little. It’s good to
listen to the voices in the room, and it doesn’t make you less of a leader. Here at ITOP we have youth workers’
meeting once a month, and one of the first things I do and continue throughout the meeting is to pull on our
youth workers. I pull on them for new lessons, activities, and things that can be improved.
It allows me as the leader to take on all these new ideas from different perspective and it empowers the workers
to have a voice. Doing this brings about unity and relationship among us. We walk with a oneness, having every
man and or woman in for the team. So before you become mentally drained, listen to the voices in the room.

Orientation
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: New members
In their desire to: Become acclimated to the ministry.
By means of: Teaching the fundamental doctrines of our
faith.
KEY DUTIES
1. Take in new members.
2. Teach new members the articles of our faith.
3. Reach out to new members to ensure there transition tothe ministry is smooth.
INSIGHTS
The mission of the Orientation Class is to ensure that all members understand what we believe and why we do
the things we do. This helps them to grasp the vision and carry themselves in a way that helps the vision and not
hinder it.
I previously worked as a teacher and did training and developing of teachers. I have been working with Orienta-
tion for two years. The ministry had a stable foundation of teaching the basics of our faith. One area that the
ministry did was to prepare baptism candidates. I reconstructed the literature that the candidates receive per-
taining to baptism, making it more palatable. I am adding to the curriculum that is being taught. I am also re-
vamping the system that transitions members to active participation in ministry. I hope to continue to foster an
atmosphere where new members feel connected to the ministry and its parishioners.
There was a time when the ministry was taking in a lot of people and I did not get to make myself very familiar
with the bulk of them. I began to put activities and procedures in place to ensure that there was a connection
made with all new members.
There are always meetings conducted which allow me to verbally say to Bishop what my vision is. I make sure
that I rehearse it to myself and my assistant. I also share it with those who I teach. I weigh everything I do
against the vision. If it isn’t in line with the vision we discontinue it or make adjustments so that it is aligned with
the vision.
When people understand what the bible says concerning things pertaining to this life and the kingdom, it builds a
confidence in them to live effective and productive lives.

TRUE STORY
There are a plethora of people that come intothis ministry. There are those who are familiarwith church and biblical doctrines. Then, there
is the opposite extreme, those who know nothingabout church or the bible.
There was a gentlemen who came to the OrientationClass. He was oblivious to the things of God. He satin class and you can see “Ooohhs” and “Awwws” inhis eyes.
This young man came up to me and began to shareabout how the things taught were foreign to him. Aftersitting under me in the class he was convinced. Heleft making declarations to change certain things inhis life.
I know that it maybe a process, but for one to see abetter way of life as a result of the Word, makes mylabor worth it.

Outreach
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The entire community
In their desire to: Have their needs met through love and
compassion with physical and spiritual resources.
By means of: Neighborhood projects such as street min-
istry, food and clothing giveaways and having resources
on-hand to serve when needed.
KEY DUTIES
1. Create, plan and maintain a calendar of communityevents.
2. Contact and meet with key members to assist in assign-ments to be carried out.
3. Submit announcements and documentation to the speci-fied department to get events implemented according toplan.
INSIGHTS
The Outreach Ministry mission supports the overall ITOP vision in that our heart’s desire is to reach out to those
that are less fortunate, lost, hurting, needing healing and those in prisons. Our hope is they also can become
what our Bishop’s vision is in Ephesians 4:13.
I became involved in the Outreach Ministry in September of 1997 and have been an active member ever since.
At first, the Outreach Ministry was both Outreach/Evangelism Ministries; evangelizing on the streets, door to
door, going to the Salvation Army, support groups at ITOP, nursing homes and prisons. We also reached out to
serve the Butler Housing Projects in several capacities of outreach bi-weekly by having bible studies and food
and clothing giveaways.
It is now more focused on outreach throughout the communities. We have implemented the “Southside Annual
Food, Clothing & School Supply Giveaway” for the 76104 zip code. This year the Minister’s Revival was added
and children’s activities. I see the Outreach expanding next year to a broader region than the 76104 zip code.
We will implement and add other regions of Fort Worth; reaching out to more families, taking this to another level
and including the Churches In Covenant (C.I.C.) churches as well. My desire is to have a building or room on-
site to have resources in place to meet the needs more on-hand. We’ve missed the mark in Outreach by being
complacent at times. There are those that come in on Sundays desiring help, and there have been times we did
not meet the need.
I believe Outreach and Evangelism are two of the most important ministries in a church because Jesus, our
Chief CEO, has commanded us to “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Jesus has
made it very clear to love our neighbor as ourselves, and love is an action word. When we operate through Out-
reach Ministry diligently, and effectively, and sharing our faith with others, this makes a deep impact on the
church to grow exceedingly. Sharing our resources with others has made an impact widely on the ITOP church.

Top 5 Things To Consider Before Starting An Outreach Ministry
I ’ve experienced a lot of proud moments in myexperience while working in leadership at ITOP.
In the Outreach Ministry it is not a visual up-front min-istry. Each year when we have a successful event,I’m proud that my Bishop has the heart to allow us tobe a blessing in our communities through the South-side Project.
We are blessed to give out the best and that makesme proud. We also are involved in the Prison Ministrywhere our Bishop sows into Second Chance PrisonMinistry quarterly. I was so proud when we were toldfrom the founders of Second Chance Ministry that ourBishop had made it possible for them to continue totravel from prison to prison in various cities of Texas.

2. Sharing the Good News of the Kingdom with those whocome in contact.
3. Ministering the plan of salvation to those who accept thegospel of Jesus Christ.
INSIGHTS
I had been very active in evangelism prior to joining ITOP. After joining, I attended the gift assessment classes
conducted by Bishop Jordan and began to segway into evangelism by preparing and publishing a tract. I have
been actively involved in evangelism at ITOP over the past two years.
I am constantly trying new and different techniques to enhance the Evangelism Ministry to make it more effec-
tive. Our mission supports the vision of ITOP in obedience to the Great Commission of Matthew 28.
My life has been dedicated to doing God’s will of preaching and evangelizing for the past 40 years through many
trials and tribulations. I have determined in my heart to endure to the end that I may reach for the mark of the
higher calling, that I may attain the crown of life that awaits me in the Kingdom of God.
I have personally missed the mark by not being attentive to the opportunities that were presented to me to minis-
ter the gospel to people. This was primarily due to depression and a lack of study as a result of having a per-
sonal pity party.
It is my hope and prayer that I’m able to help others to have a full share in the gospel and to realize the tremen-
dous joy and blessings associated with helping lost souls come to Christ. There is no greater joy in knowing that

2. Provide a historical record of what’s happening at the

3. Produce quality broadcast and internet podcast products.
4. Produce visual effects to set the atmosphere when

INSIGHTS
The Media Ministry’s mission supports the vision of the house by providing a median for the good works being
done at the house of God to be heard and felt by the masses abroad. It provides opportunities for those that
would not normally have an opportunity to hear the word.
The Media Ministry went through a transition period and was in need of personnel who had skills with cameras
and recording equipment. I had an aptitude for the process and was a willing participant. This opened the door
for my involvement in the ministry. The ministry is in a turn-key state now and is ready to move forward with a
strong ministry effort to help complete the vision of ITOP.
Failure is a part of success and the Media Ministry has had to learn from some of our missteps. We missed the
mark with our first concert. Our lack of knowledge with lighting and sound caused us to produce an inferior prod-
uct. More training and attention to detail prior to the event will help eliminate these occurrences in the future.
The most important impact our ministry has on the church is that it provides a median for people to revisit the
word accurately in all aspects. I communicate the vision of leadership by providing time before and after tapings
and quarterly meetings to rehearse what we’re doing and what we can do to provide a quality product and en-
hance our ministry.

You’re working

My proudest moment was the Inspired by
Fire Word Conference in 2006. It was an
extremely demanding week and Bishop
T.D. Jakes was preaching the Sunday word. There
were guest preachers nightly and requests for DVD’s
and CD’s for each night’s service and a package of
the entire services were in heavy demand.
We handled all tasks with excited excellence. Each
night’s taping was top notch which led to minimal edit-
ing. This expedited the time to get a finished copy to
our bookstore for reproduction and placed in the
packaging for immediate sale shortly after the event.
We also had to coordinate with Bishop Jakes staff to
provide an immediate copy of the service upon the
benediction.
All tasks and demands went off with minimal prob-
lems. Preparation for the event made this possible
and the team understood its role and the importance
of the event to the growth and manifestation of our

2. Monitor sound during worship services and events.
3. Train staff on the sound board and management of
sound levels.
INSIGHTS
I’ve been active in the ministry for over 8 years now. In the beginning, the sound ministry was operating off of a
basic analog sound system that wasn’t carrying the proper sound to the needed areas. As the church begin to
grow, the sound system needed to be upgraded. I offered my knowledge of sound and lighting and I was asked
to install our present digital sound system. Now we have a state of the art digital sound system that’s providing
superb, crystal clear sound reinforcement. My hope is to become better and learn more about the latest technol-
ogy in sound as we continually upgrade our system.
I communicate the pastor’s vision by show and tell. I show my team how to conduct themselves and how to op-
erate the equipment properly and then I explain when to execute what was shown. I explain the pastor’s flow
and his expectations.
Experience is a good teacher and sometimes we have to learn things through experience in the Sound Ministry.
There was a service when all three microphones went out and there was no sound. After checking every wire
and every power cord, the problem was that all three batteries were dead. We made an adjustment and pur-
chased a battery tester to make sure that never happens again.

Success is measured by the success of the service. When
a service has no major problems and everyone is happy
with the sound and the equipment used, that is a success..

INSIGHTS
I was approached about working in Public Relations in 2005. At that time, there wasn’t anyone overseeing that
area of ministry and they were looking for a capable person to fill the position. I agreed to oversee the ministry
and I have been active since that point.
When I started in the ministry, it was non-existent. Everything went through First Lady and there weren’t any
clearly defined lines between administration and Public Relations. I worked with First Lady to establish require-
ments and procedures for submitting information for approval and requesting to have fliers created.
I communicate the pastor’s vision by making it my own and making sure everything the PR Ministry does lines
up with the vision to bring it to fruition. I also make sure I know the heart of my pastor, because if I know his
heart, I know what he expects from my ministry.
Failure is a part of success and the ministry learns from them. One time we had an event in which we purchased
about 5,000 fliers. When the fliers arrived, we passed some out and we stored the remainder in a closet for our
next Sunday service. During the week, Bishop had other pastors requesting fliers to hand out at their church but
none of his staff knew where we had placed the box of fliers. Once First Lady found them, Bishop was very up-
set that we had placed them in a closet instead of putting them in his office. From now on, we always place the
box of fliers in First Lady’s office and we make Bishop aware of exactly where they are.
My proudest moment at ITOP was the re-design of our web site. Our old web site didn’t meet the needs of our
church and it didn’t represent the level of excellence that our church exudes. We worked to completely re-
design the web site and update all the information so that it is functional for our ministry. We now have online
sermons, blogs and online giving.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the PR Ministry and the place that it has
in this church. I ask that you would continue to guide us as we
communicate the vision of this house to your people. I pray that we touch
those outside the four walls and draw them in to the church to experience
you. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.
A Prayer For The Ministry
1. The person overseeing your PR Ministry should have a background in writing and ad-
ministration. They should be professional and have great communication skills.
2. The role of the PR department should be clearly defined. Your PR department is your
ministry’s first impression so make sure it’s a good one.
3. Make sure all printed communications are checked and approved by the PR department
before they are sent out.
4. You should have a process for requesting and creating fliers. You should also have a
process for approving printed materials that individual ministries create.
5. Start small where you are and grow your PR department as your budget allows.
6. Don’t be cheap! Invest in quality materials.
7. Don’t expect immediate results. It takes time to build awareness. It won’t happen over-
night so be patient.
8. You absolutely, positively must have a web site! It can be simple and informative but it is
a necessity.
9. Your members are your best marketing tool.
10. Be creative and have fun! Don’t be afraid to try new things. When you’re excited, people
get excited with you and they want to get involved.

Decorations
MISSION
Our goal is to serve: The whole church
In their desire to: Beautify the house of God in
every way.
By means of: Making sure the decorations are al-
ways in order and excellent .
KEY DUTIES
1. Keep the church and its events beautified.
2. Keep all flower arrangements clean and orderly.
3. Make sure the church has everything needed for the up -
keep and decorations for events, on a monthly basis.
INSIGHTS
Bishop Jordan desires the House of God to be in excellence and I support that vision. In 1 King 6, God tells
Solomon to build a house and He gives instructions as to how it should be built. Solomon sat down, planned and
obtained very expensive and costly materials to build the temple. This included beautiful linens, silks from differ-
ent areas and wood, made of cedar. We need to beautify the house of God even as he did to set the atmos-
phere for God so when people enter the sanctuary for praise and worship they will experience excellence.
I communicate Bishop’s vision by implementing and communicating the vision when we meet to do the work. I
let my staff know what the visionary expects and wants from us, and this brings understanding that this is the
Lord’s house and it is sacred.
In the beginning, there was no particular person in place to decorate, and it was done as needed. Today key
people such as myself have been put in place to operate the Decoration Ministry.
The most important impact my ministry has is the atmosphere of excellence. It is evident as soon as you walk in
the doors of the church.

INSIGHTS
The Word of Life Bookstore was established in February, 1998, and I have been a part of the ministry since its
inception. I became involved as a result of my leadership position within the ministry and was appointed to as-
sist the Store Manager when ITOP first endeavored to establish a church bookstore.
I was responsible for beginning the ministry, so where it was when I started was a concept of Bishop Jordan and
the first Store Manager. It began as a small area in the prior location at 4733 E. Lancaster, with a library of do-
nated books and products, and a few purchased books, Bibles, and videotapes. There was no cash register,
counter, or much floor space. Since that time, we have grown to the current location (our 3rd), with the possibil-
ity of ordering and offering any type of product desired by our customers. We serve as the ITOP merchandise
marketplace, utilizing a top-notch bookstore P.O.S. system, complete with the ability to process debit/credit
cards. In the future, the hope is to be able to serve independently of the ITOP ministry and become a self-
sufficient Christian bookstore; still on the ITOP property, but without having to use church financial support.
We get it done! If there is anything any ministry needs as it relates to books or materials, the Word of Life Book-
store has established a reputation of being able to handle it. This impacts the ministry by making sure material
are available in a timely and efficient manner to conduct ministry in excellence.
I live Bishop’s vision and encourage my team to do the same. Constant focus on the vision and not allowing
obstacles or situations to deter me help to keep the vision alive. As I work, they work. It is difficult to ask some-
one to do something that you, as a leader, are not willing to do. If no one else is passionate about the book-
store, I am, and I make every effort to pass that on to those who work alongside me.
