MOSH MEETING NOTES by Damon Lister A few highlights from our MOSH meeting on Tuesday, 10/8. • Hosted mtg at the SH Spa Lounge- big thank you to Lisa for hosting us! • One of the larger turnouts of the year- approx 13-14 Merchants: Betsy (Stuffed Mushroom), Jamie (Seersucker Sassy), Chris (Daydreamers), Lisa (Spa), Jonathan B (EDL), Mick Elliot (SeaDog Cottages), Lauren (Patent Bow), Jody (Galleria), Aniko (Sausage house), Kevin (Troubled Waters Brewery), Realtor, Dr. Near Jessica Wilson’s office, Joe Ayoub, Damon • Mayor Joe Ayoub joined us for the first half hour. Shared an update on downtown happenings/ updated the group on Bay to Bay Bldg, Nova Medical School, - he fielded a few Qs re parking, 2020 March Election for SH, • Jonathan brought up a great point re being intentional about leveraging the “Love in the Sun” movie - strike while the iron is hot, suggested we create some A frames or window Decals- “As featured in Hallmark’s “Love in the Sun” TV movie”.. - Chamber and/or merchants could find creative ways to use this • Betsy brought traffic flow challenges that exist, bottlenecks on certain streets/ avenues etc- She would like to ask Matt Spoor to look in to possibility of 1-WAY Avenues from 3rd Ave- 8th Ave. Pro’s & Cons discussed, some in favor of the concept, some had reservations - going to share with City for feedback • Lauren from new business Patent Bow was there, excited to be a part of this community, Chamber, Mosh, etc. - Next meeting date: Tues, 11/12 - 5:30pm @ the Chamber.
