WASH (or not wash), SHINE AND DINE GALA EVENT at the
Lazy H Ranch in Pauma Valley. Once again we are gathering at the Lazy H for a number of reasons such as
it is fun, that is a good enough reason right there but we will continue on
anyway. We will meet old friends, make new friends, look at some auto-
mobiles and kick a few tries, tell outlandish stories about past events, gos-
sip about other car clubs, perhaps get a tour of an Interstate, and if we are
really lucky we will be there for the grand opening of the rotating, fold out,
full service bar installed in the boot of President Michael's limo. The Pack-
ard Club has been invited so we might see an American Automobile icon
that shares a Legacy with Mercedes-Benz
Awards will given for cleanest, the one we like best and the dirtiest car at-
tending. We are hoping to meet some of our Airstream members as well.
Airstream Interstate drivers PLEASE let us see and hear about the finest
motorhome in the industry. A special award is being prepared for the most
awesome Interstate as decided by the people at the gathering.

On Saturday evening September 19th, we
gathered for a pre event dinner at Karl
Strauss Brewing in downtown San Die-go. We had quite a
few new faces join us including mem-
bers from the Or-ange County Sec-tion. We talked,
laughed and told stories while we sat
around a large table eating some great food and drinking
adult beverages.

On Sunday September 20th members
of the San Diego Section Mercedes Benz Club flocked to Coronado to
witness vintage auto racing at its best. Some 14 cars from the club gathered in the “Car Corral” area. It
was a nice warm day with a bit of a breeze. Truth be told, a good num-
ber of us spent much of the day un-der the club canopy eating yummy food and telling car stories. The
Coronado Speedfest is much more than just a bunch of folks racing vin-
tage cars.
Under our corral canopy Michael Cooper and Sister-in Law Susan Cooper, Gary Jarvis and
Mr. "B" aka Brian Kruse. Areas were dedicated to vendors, test drives, car sales, a food court and guided tours of the pit area. Many car clubs joined us in the Car Corral. This is really a fun event as it allows you to go into the pits, see all of the cars and speak with the
drivers. Thank you to those that joined us as we certainly were happy to see you and spend a little time together.

Presidents' Message Really… is it just me or was August awesome! We had a fun time at the Del Mar Race Track as well as a suc-cessful turn out at Legends of the Autobahn in Monterey. Congratulations to Steve and Bob taking 1st and 2nd place respectively. We had a lot of fun this year on the Monterey Peninsula. Auctions, shows, cruises and dinners. If you didn’t get a chance to join us this year for our annual pilgrimage, you always have next year. It’s well worth the drive. As we slide into the end of the year, you still have plenty of opportunity to join us for an event. (See listings in this issue). I don’t often do this… but I’m asking for your help! Help with event planning. Help with event organization. Help on the Board. Help with ideas. Help make this club successful. Help in turning something good, into something great. If you have a little bit of extra time, we would love the opportunity to share some time with you. We still have plenty of good weather left this year, so get out there and have some fun!
Thank you for your support
