What recommendations would you make to the English department to better prepare

their students?

More conversational English instead of writing too much.

Promote dialogue instead of assigning whole chapters of writing exercises.

The professors have to come more prepare to class.

Use technology as a educational tool, because it is a good way of keep students attentive these days.

More grammar, because students are suffering on gramatical errors.
