Creating Need
• It is necessary to educate people about generic medicines before they could be turned into customers
• Therefore, Mera Medicare should focus on creating ‘Need ‘for generic medicines
• Campaign can be designed to create ‘Need’, as well put forward our value proposition simultaneously. Example – Kellogg’s ‘Bade Sapno ki Sahi Shuruat’ campaign
Creating Need
• Write articles in leading newspapers; quote examples of Novartis case and Bayer v NATCO.
• Publish study proving that generic medicines cost much less but have identical impacts as branded drugs
Post Need Acquisition Strategy
• Persuade pharmacies to distribute pamphlets educating people about generic medicines. Mention about Mera Medicare there.
• Put kiosks in hospitals, outside clinics, blood donation camps and seminars/conferences related to healthcare
• Depute sales people at hospitals, popular clinics to communicate directly to patients
Post Need Acquisition Strategy
• Target social media as the target group of tech savvy people spends considerable time there
• Grab attention through Out of Home Advertising – BEST, Metro, Billboards, etc.
• Promote Mera Medicare by providing sugar tests and BP tests
