1. Idris named Third Team All Region IX
March 12, 2015
(Miles City, MT) On Tuesday, Pioneer Sophomore Teslim Idris was named to the All-Region IX team as a member of the third team.
The native of London, England started 29 of 31 games for the Pioneers this season averaging 12.2 points per game in 26 minutes per contest. On the season, Idris finished shooting 52.1%
from the field, 27.9% from 3-pt. range, and 65.9% from the free throw line. The power forward averaged 7.6 rebounds per game and 0.8 assists.
In the second game of the season, Idris led the Pioneers to a 92-84 victory over the Bismarck State College Mystics with a season high 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field and 9-of-
11 shooting from the free throw line.
MCC finished the 2014-2015 season with a 13-18 overall record and 4-11 in the Region IX North.

MCC enters tournament as the #7 seed
Men face off against #2 seed Otero Junior College
The Miles Community College Pioneers will open up the Region IX conference tournament in
Casper, WY on Saturday, March 2nd against the Otero Junior College Rattlers.
Next Up: The Rattlers, from La Junta, CO, come into the tournament as the #2 seed from the
South sub region with an 11-5 (conference) and 23-7 (overall) record.
Opponent: Otero is led by 6’4 freshman guard/forward Terrell Brown who scores at a 15.2 pt.

Tournament Information: Casper College secured the #1 seed in the North sub region and will
host the Men’s tournament in Casper, WY. The tournament runs March 2-6.

3. Miles CC Men's Basketball Tip-off Friday
October 29, 2014 (Miles City, MT) The Men's Basketball team of Miles Community College will kick of their regular season when they host the Pioneer Club Invite, October 31st and November 1st.
The team is coming off a 2013-2014 season in which they finished with an overall record of 14-17 and 7-9 in Region IX play.
The team will look to a new core to lead this year after losing their top three scorers from last season in Jonathan Dogbo (15.5 ppg and 7 rpg), Ryan McCarty (12.2 ppg), and Quinn Smith (10.9 ppg). Also gone is fourth leading scorer Conner Smyle (9.9). Dogbo has continued his
career past MCC and now suites up for the Golden Knights at Division II, Gannon University. McCarty and Smith are currently at the University of Montana-Western in Dillon, MT.
The Pioneers return the third leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder from last year's club in Teslim Idris (10.5), 3rd leading rebounder Emmanuel Olufemi, and top assist man Tyree King (3 apg). Grant Ellison and Greg Spencer also return for MCC.
A plethora of new faces will don the blue, white, and silver this year as head coach Chase
Tait takes the helm for his 6th season on the sidelines.
Sophomore transfers Jamal McCoy, Myron Taylor, and Christian Ker will look to add to the inside presence with the absence of Dogbo and Smith. Freshman newcomers include guards Cole
Ashby, Jalen Shepard, Daniel Haileleul, and big man Papa Ndiaye.
The Pioneers will kick of the season when they host Rocky Mountain College on Friday, October 31st at 7:30 pm. The tournament will continue for the Men when they play host to Bismarck
State College on Saturday, November 1st at 6:00 pm.

The Pioneers will kick off their 2004-2015 Basketball Season on Halloween Night! Come and join a night of basketball and prizes! Anyone (including adults) who come to the game dressed
up in a costume will receive free admission and some candy. All children dressed in a Halloween costume will put their name into a drawing to win Pioneer gear. During timeouts and halftime there will be a drawing for a child to win Candy, Pioneer gear or an Arby’s coupon. After a night
of trick or treating, come join a night of fun and support your Pioneers!
On Saturday, all fans that bring their CCDHS Cowboy Playoff Ticket to the Pioneer games will
also be allowed free admission. The Cowboys play Havre at 12:00 pm at Connors Stadium.
4. Miles CC prevails in OT thriller against Northwest College
February 3, 2014 (Miles City, MT) Behind Jonathan Dogbo's 30 point effort, the Miles CC Pioneers prevailed in
overtime against the Trappers of Northwest College, 92-89 Saturday evening.
Down 84-81 with 32 seconds remaining in regulation, the Pioneers forced overtime on a three point basket from Ryan McCarty, proceeded by a missed 2-pt. shot by Gary Gordon of
Northwest at the buzzer.
In overtime, Dogbo scored 4 of his game high 30 as the Pioneers outscored NWC, 8-5.
For the night, MCC connected on 11 3-pt. baskets, including a perfect 5-5 from Dogbo.
McCarty added 16 points with three 3-pt. buckets, while Teslim Idris added 9 points in the victory. Quinn Smith, Tyree King, Conner Smyle, and LaSalle Massey each had 8 points
respectively.
Miles CC has won 4 of their last 6 conference game. With the win, the Pioneers improved their
record to 13-11 overall and 6-5 Region IX.
They will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday, February 5th as they host Gillette College at 7:30 pm.
5. Pioneers close out regular season with 96-79 win over Sheridan College
February 21, 2015 (Miles City, MT) Miles CC closed out the regular season Saturday evening with a 96-79 win over the Generals of Sheridan College.
6 Pioneers scored in double-figures for the 2nd game in a row, after shooting 52% from the field and 86% from the free throw line.
Leading the charge was freshman guard Jalen Shepard with 15 points and 5 assists. Myron Taylor added 14 points and 4 rebounds, while Tyree King and Greg Spencer each tallied 12 points, respectively. Spencer added 6 rebounds in the win.
Teslim Idris and Cole Ashby each chipped in 11 points apiece, while Emmanuel Olufemi grabbed 14 points.
MCC dominated in many categories including: Rebounds (48-39), Assists (14-10), Points off Turnovers (13-5), Points in the Paint (36-26), and Bench Points (47-20).
The win moves the Pioneers to 13-17 overall and 4-10 in the Region IX North. Up next for MCC will be a Region IX North Playoff Game Saturday, February 28th. Opponent, time, and location

6. Pioneers head to Gillette for first round playoff game

(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College Pioneers finished as the 7th seed in the Region
IX North after closing out the regular season with a 96-79 victory over Sheridan College. MCC
finished with a 13-17 overall record and 4-10 in Region IX play and will head to Gillette College
on Saturday, February 28th for a first round Region IX North playoff game.
Gillette hosts as the #2 seed after finishing the regular season with a 24-6 overall record and 10-4
in the Region IX North.
Gillette is 2-0 vs. Miles CC this year after beating the Pioneers 99-89 in Miles City and 103-73
in Gillette.
Gillette College- Gillette comes into the playoffs as the #2 seed after finishing behind Northwest
College in the Region IX North. The Pronghorns average 98.6 points, 46.4 rebounds, and 18.6
rebounds per contest. They have 5 players who are scoring in double figures, led by Brandon
Jones (16.8 ppg) and Lorenzo Bonam (16.6 ppg).
Miles Community College- MCC is averaging 80.2 ppg, 30.7 rpg, and 13 apg. The Pioneers are
led by Myron Taylor (13.3 ppg), Teslim Idris (ppg), and Cole Ashby (12.3 ppg). Center
Emmanuel Olufemi averages 8.3 rebounds per contest, while guard Tyree King dishes out 3.6
assists a game.

7. Miles CC ends season with first round playoff loss to Gillette

(Gillette, WY)- The 2014-2015 season came to an end for the Miles Community College
Pioneers on Saturday evening with a 71-59 setback to Gillette College in the first round of the
Region IX North Playoffs.
Trailing Miles CC 38-30 at the break, Gillette outscored the Pioneers 41-21 in the second half
behind Lorenzo Bonam's 17 points.
MCC finished the game shooting 37% from the field, 35% from 3-pt range, and went 9-of-13
from the free throw line.
Gillette held a slight advantage in rebounds (42-35), assists (13-9), and turned the ball over 8
times compared to MCC's 13 turnovers.
In his final game as a Pioneer, forward Teslim Idris notched 8 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Freshman guard Jalen Shepard had a game high 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field,
including 2-of-2 from long range. Shepard added 2 assists and 1 steal on the night.
Sophomore center Emmanuel Olufemi topped off his career with 9 points and 5 rebounds, while
sophomore Tyree King added 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in his finale.
On the season, the Pioneers were led by sophomores Myron Taylor (12.9 ppg), Teslim Idris
(12.2), and freshman guard Cole Ashby (11.4 ppg). Idris finished the season shooting 52.1%
from the field, while Taylor shot 40.5% from 3-pt. range.
King led the team in assists per contest at 3.6, while Olufemi led the team in rebounds at 8.1 and
1.8 blocks per game.
Sophomores moving on include: King, Taylor, Greg Spencer, Grant Ellison, Idris, Christian Ker,
and Olufemi.
Back for head coach Chase Tait and the Pioneers for the 2015-2016 campaign include: Jalen
Shepard, Cole Ashby, and Daniel Haileleul.
In 31 contests, MCC finished 13-18 overall and 4-11 in the Region IX North. They had a 7-6
home record, 4-10 road record, and went 2-2 on neutral courts.

8. Annual Cowtown Classic Basketball Tournament set for March 21-22, 2015

The Pioneer Club hosts the annual Cowtown Classic Youth Basketball Tournament every March. The tournament is for 5th - 8th grade Boys and Girls teams and is held on the third full weekend of March each year. The Cowtown Classic is a fundraiser that proceeds the MCC
men's and women's basketball squads scholarship funds. The tournament has been going on since 1993.
The tournament is played on five courts across Miles City, including the MCC Centra (2 courts), Custer County District High School (2 courts), and Washington Middle School both Saturday and Sunday. The entry fee of $150 guarantees four games. We use Montana Officials
Association referees for our games.
The tournament not only benefits MCC, but also benefits the community and local businesses as
it is our way of giving back to the businesses that support us. Last season, the Cowtown brought in nearly 50 teams to the community from across Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

9. Hot shooting Casper overpowers Miles CC, Western Wyoming pushes past
Pioneers
February 10, 2015
(Miles City, MT) Casper shot 66% (12-18) from 3-pt. range and 70% (12-17) from the free throw line on their way to earning the Region IX victory over Miles CC, 78-55. The loss drops MCC to 10-15 overall and 1-8 in the Region IX North.
Casper held a big advantage on the glass as they out-rebounded the Pioneers 40-29 and outscored MCC 28-22 off the bench.
Freshman Cole Ashby led the way as he connected on 3-of-7 from 3-pt. range and a team high 11 points. Sophomore Teslim Idris chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds, while Sophomore Myron Taylor added 9 points.
Sophomore Center Emmanuel Olufemi notched 7 blocks for MCC, while adding 3 rebounds. Jalen Shepard added 7 points and 5 assists, while Tyree King chipped in 7 points and
dished out 3 assists.
WWC 72, MCC 62
WWC shot 55% from the field and out-rebounded the Pioneers 35-26 on their way to the Region
IX North victory.
For the second night in a row, Cole Ashby led the way with 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from
beyond the 3-pt line. He finished the night 2-of-3 from the free throw line and snagged 4 rebounds in the loss.
Teslim Idris added 15 points and 9 rebounds to go along with 2 blocks. Tyree King added 10 points on a perfect night from the free throw line (4-of-4). Grant Ellison chipped 8 points on 2-
of-7 from the 3-pt. range.
MCC drops to 10-16 overall and 1-9 in the Region IX North.
MCC hits the road for their last road series of the year when they travel to Sheridan College on Thursday, February 12th to square off against the Generals at 7:30 pm. They continue their two game road trip when they tip-off against Gillette College at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 14th.
10. Tait Adds Three More for 2014-2015
June 25, 2014 JC Transfer, Two High School Players join Pioneer Basketball
Miles City, MT- Miles Community College head basketball coach, Chase Tait as announced the
signing of Myron Taylor, Jalen Shepard, and Christian Ker.
Taylor transfers to MCC after playing one season at Trinity Valley JC located in Athens, Texas.
The 6'2 guard from Killeen, TX played at 5A Copperas Cove High School where he averaged 14.2 points, 2.6 steals, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per contest as a senior. He was named an All-District performer his senior season, as well as being honored as an All-District Academic
performer his junior and senior seasons.
Shepard joins MCC as a true freshman, where he prepped at Foothill High School in Henderson,
Nevada. The 6'0 guard averaged 12 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game his senior season. He was selected to the 1st Team All-Sunrise League as a senior.
Ker comes to MCC after prepping at Bigfork High School in Bigfork, Montana. The 6'6 Forward
was named to the Montana Class B All-State team in 2010 and 2011. He was also named to the Montana Class B 7-B 1st Team All-District team, and helped guide his football squad to the
2010 Class B State Championship as a quarterback.
