Gymnastics were developed in ancient Greece
800 BC : Roman Empire , Greece and Persia used gymnastics for military training
18th century : Germany popularized gymnastics for physical fitness – Friedrich ludwig Jahn created exercises on apparatus.

Gymnastics is guided by the code of points. For each apparatus only one attempt per gymnast Each gymnast determines his routines The objective is to finish the routines with a maximum of points No spotter is allowed There is a lot of particular rules by apparatus
