Mengzhou City was also called as Heyang County in BC 106 at first, and was renamed Mengzhou in 843 and Mengxian County in 1377. In the winter of the year 1978, Jili Commune was incorporated into Luoyang. On January 18, 1986, according to The Approval on Henan Provincial Administrative Reform of the State Council, Xinxiang area wasrepealed, and Mengxian County was under the jurisdiction of Jiaozuo City. On May 20, 1996, approved by the State Council, Mengxian County was transformed into a county-level city.In recent years, Mengzhou municipal party committee and Mengzhou municipal government has complied with development trend, changed development ideas, developed e-commerce economy and explored the new mode of organic integrative development of local economy and e-commerce economy.
