Young’s modulus 값이 1.22~1.8 Tera Pascal 로다이아몬드만큼 강하다.
Tensile strength 값이 ~ 200 Gpa로 다른금속과비교하여훨씬큰값을가진다. [ Al(70), W(350), Fe(20) Gpa]
탄소나노튜브는 매우 강한 물질이어서인공위성을 매달아 놓을 수 있다 .
