At this extremely difficult time where so many grieving families are unable to give their loved ones the personalised funeral service they had planned to, Lincolnshire Co-op Funeral Services are able to support and guide you in organising a meaningful memorial service or ‘celebration of life’ which can be held once we have returned to some kind of normality.

This will provide the opportunity for family and friends to come together to grieve, pay respects and celebrate in a way which has not been possible recently.

A memorial service gives family and friends the opportunity to celebrate the life of their loved one after a burial or cremation has taken place.

We know how important such an event is and we can help you plan a ceremony which is fitting and appropriate for you and your family. Whilst there are no set rules around the format, we have created a range of options which are typically associated with memorial services.

The package includes our professional services for arranging a memorial service. These include the following:

Personal consultation meeting to discuss your requirements by phone, at home or at our funeral home

Information, advice and guidance on all aspects of the memorial service and associated products

Liaising with third parties including clergy and other associated professionals such as florists, caterers and printers

Assistance with the compilation of orders of service, an online obituary and newspaper announcements

Receipt, collation and administration of charitable donations

All administration related to the provision of the memorial service

Memorial service time and date(Monday - Friday during office hours. An additional surcharge fee of £250.00 will be charged for weekend or Bank Holiday services)

Memorial Package

Disbursements – These are fees paid to third parties on your behalf such as minister or church fees. The disbursements must be paid within 48 hours of signing our sundry arrangement form. Failure to make this payment will result in postponement of the memorial service. Payments - We require full payment of our invoice within 30 days of receipt. We reserve the right to demand full payment in advance of the memorial service in certain circumstances.

We understand that personalisation of memorial services is extremely important to our families and therefore, it is important that you can select the products and services which are right for you and your loved one.

Music You may wish to consider the ceremonial music. You could select your favourite songs from a particular genre or you may prefer to choose classical pieces and hymns. If you prefer, you may wish to play some music recorded by a family member.

Alternatively, you may like to have live music at the service. We can organise buglers, highland pipers and other soloists at request to perform at the ceremony.

Live musicians such as buglers and pipers can be costed on request.

Newspaper Announcement of the Service Our colleagues can place a newspaper announcement in local or national publications should you so wish. We will help you compile a fitting tribute for your loved one. Some publications will allow us to include images or photographs to make the notice more personalised.

Memorial Service Stationery We can assist you with creating stationery for the memorial service, for example: orders of service, canvases to be displayed on an easel and memorial books. Each of these products can include photographs. Our Orders of Services start from £100 for 25 copies.

Catering Any catering requirements for after the memorial service has taken place can be left in our hands. We are able to provide catering facilities at a number of our funeral homes including:

Please ask one of our funeral arrangers about availability and catering options. We will also be happy to make arrangements with a local public house, hotel or outside caterer for buffets at home.

Floral Tributes We understand that flowers are a beautiful personal tribute to a loved one. There are many types of floral tributes from double ended sprays to pedestal arrangements. Our colleagues can provide you with help and advice when choosing your flowers and they are always available to help answer your questions. We can take care of all of the arrangements and order the flowers on your behalf. Our floral tributes can be individually tailored to your needs as we can change the size, colour and content to suit your requirements and meet your unique specifications. You may want to consider a bespoke floral tribute to reflect your loved one’s interests, hobbies, favourite colours or personality. We’ve created modes of transport such as cars and boats to animals to musical instruments. Simply let us know your ideas and we will offer advice, then we will speak to our local florist about the design and ensure that the floral tribute is exactly as you would like it.
