MEMORANDUM TO: United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Board of Directors FROM: Tom Uhler, Allocations Committee Chair DATE: June 2013 RE: 2014 Recommended Allocations to Agencies The 2013 Allocations process is now complete. The task of the Allocations Committee is a challenging, demanding, and rewarding volunteer opportunity. Given the many needs that exist in our community, the Committee faces the challenge of recommending United Way funds in a way that will have the most positive impact on community problems. We believe that the Committee has realistically evaluated the needs of our community and has made final recommendations that balance the United Way’s needs driven philosophy and today’s economic realities. The results of the 2013 allocations process are enclosed in this report. It was a privilege to work with this year’s allocation volunteers. This dedicated group of over 350 volunteers were invaluable. Here is a snapshot of the journey:
