COMPTON TRADI-TIONAL BOWHUNTERS

RENDEZVOUS The Club will again host one of the largest gather-

ings of traditional bowhunters in the world on June17-19, 2016, when The Compton Traditional Bowhunters Rendezvous takes place on our Ber-rien County Sportsman’s Club grounds in Berrien Springs.

The Club’s Compton Traditional Bowhunters

Rendezvous committee met on January 21 to

discuss the progress of plans for this year’s

rendezvous June 17-19. Their next meeting

will be Wednesday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m.

FEBRUARY RETIREES

MEETING ANNOUNCED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2016

AT 10:00 AM ATTENTION: Retirees or Anybody

Else. We had our first meeting last

month and had a good turnout with 10

retirees and 1 Wanna-Be. We had a

good discussion of our favorite 22 pis-

tols and also found time for a friendly

shoot in the indoor range, with Gene

Herrman winning the competition. We

have decided to meet once a month

with the next meeting on Wednesday,

February 10, 2016 at 10:00 am (Some

retirees thought this was a little early

but we decided to give it a try anyway).

We will have a discussion of our favor-

ite center-fire pistols followed by some

time in the indoor range. Don’t forget to

bring your favorite center-fire pistol for

discussion. If interested or have any

ideas about getting together contact:

Jason Grimm @ (269) 927-1793 or

Mike Parker @ (269) 429-0507

During January’s meeting, retirees share informa-tion on their favorite .22 caliber handguns before

heading to the indoor range.

NEW

MEMBERS, BRING YOUR

PISTOLS

New members! Come on out with your pistol on Thursday nights and enjoy shooting with some of the old members. We would like to meet you and have you use our indoor pistol and rifle range. We will help you with your shooting skills for when you decide to take the club’s monthly CPL class. If you are not a current CPL holder, you will need to be sure to separate your ammunition and firearm and place these two items in different parts of your vehicle when transporting your fire-arm. The clubhouse range opens at 7:00 p.m.

GENE HERRMAN ANNOUNCES 2016 CMP RIFLE SHOOT

DATES AT BCSC While 2015 was a good year for the CMP Rifle Shoot program, our atten-dance was down a little. So during the 2016 year we will be trying something new. We are going to incorporate a cou-ple of “Poker Shoots” into our CMP shoot schedule. A trial shoot with 22 caliber rifles was held in 2015 and it turned out to be exciting for the shoot-ers. The cards are reversed so you can-not see which card is which, and the best hand is scored after each round and targets are switched between shoot-ers. With the cost of ammunition this type of shoot will fit into a budget a little better. So listed below are the CMP Shoot dates for 2016, mark your calen-dars and we will see you there. These are the dates for the 2016 CMP program at the Berrien County Sports-man’s Club. All shoots will be on Satur-days and will start at 8 am on the rifle range. For questions call Gene Herrman at 269-465-5026. May 14, 2016 CMP Shoot July 9, 2016 Poker Shoot August 13, 2016 Poker Shoot September 10, 2016 CMP?
