KidsOutside.org 1 Member Needs www.KidsOutside.org 4/1/16: Additional needs updates are on hold during evaluation/development of a KOA software tool (“Nibble”) that will make it dramatically easier to be informed about member needs and to take action. Visit the KOA web site and sign up for our infrequent newsletter to be informed when our new Nibble software tool is ready. Please support these 501(c)(3) nonprofits that connect Seattle-area youth with nature! Below are some bite-sized needs that were submitted by KOA members (listed alphabetically). Bike Works | www.bikeworks.org | [email protected] Help Us Get the Word Out: Bike Works has programs for youth ages 9 and up. We provide all necessary equipment as well as bicycles, and all program fees are on a sliding scale. We are particularly looking to reach out to immigrant and refugee communities in Southeast Seattle and surrounding neighborhoods. Donate To Our Bike Fund: Help us add some new bicycles to our touring fleet this year so no child gets turned away. We are working to raise $5,000 toward the purchase of bikes that will be used in everything from weekly rides around town to our week-long nature-based summer camps. Bring Us Used Bikes: We gratefully accept any donations of used bicycles and parts. These are refurbished in our classes and by youth and adult volunteers, and then either donated to individuals in need or sold in our bike shop, the proceeds going to support Bike Works' programs. A little bit of Bike Works' magic and some elbow grease will turn your old bike into outdoor fun!
