Lawrenceville Borough received grant money to refurbish the playground on Cherry Street.
This is the beautiful new playground.
Melvin W. Davis spent his life in service to our town, as a member of the Lawrenceville Borough Council and “behind the scenes”, performing many volunteer services. In recognition of his years of service, the Lawrenceville Borough Council voted to name the playground in his honor.
COME ONE – COME ALL!! Please join us for the Dedication of the new
Lawrenceville children’s park!
The park will be named the “Melvin W. Davis Memorial Park” to honor his many
years of service to our town.
Sunday, October 14th, 2012 3:00 PM at the park.
Refreshments at the fire hall directly after the dedication.
Many thanks to Kenyon Funeral Home for the plaque.
In preparation for the dedication, the Borough Council placed a plaque in the corner of the park.
People gathered for the dedication.
Melvin’s sister, Mary, and Council President, Jack Young, cut the ribbon to dedicate the park.
Mayor Diana Barnes and others reminisce about Melvin.
Attendees enjoyed a reception at the Fire Hall following the dedication.
