MX Change’s efficientperformance is achieved withseveral different program

modules. The foundation isthe MX Change server, whichis a database that can beaccessed by all programsintegrated in the system. It isused both as a local serverand as a network server. Avariable declared in anyprogram connected to MXChange can be accessed by allthe other programs in thesystem. GX Developer supports allMELSEC controllers from theMELSEC FX series to theMELSEC System Q. Thissoftware shines with a simple,intuitive interface and a shortlearning curve.

GX Developer supports theMELSEC instruction list (IL),MELSEC ladder diagram (LD)and MELSEC sequentialfunction chart (SFC)languages. You can switchback and forth between ILand LD at will while you are

working. You can programyour own function blocks(MELSEC QnA/QnAS/SystemQ series), and a wide range ofutilities are available forconfiguring special functionmodules for the MELSECSystem Q. GX Developer FX –MELSEC Programming the Easy Way

GX Developer FX is speciallydesigned for the needs of theMELSEC FX user and supportsall FX controllers. The packagesupports MELSEC instructionlist (IL), MELSEC ladderdiagram (LD) and MELSECstepladder (STL)programming. You can switchbetween IL and LD at willwhile working on a project.

The GX Simulator offlinesimulation mode enables youto test all of your program’skey functions before actually

Drivers for all MELSECPLCs and many third-partyPLCs are available directly.Drivers can be updated onlinevia the Internet withoutexciting E Designer.

VFD – ConfigurationSoftware for Frequency Inverters

The VFD Setup softwarepackage is a powerfulfrequency inverterconfiguration andmanagement tool. It runsunder Windows® 3.11, 95 and98, making it possible tomanage your inverters with astandard PC. You canconfigure, operate andmonitor multiple frequencyinverters simultaneously via anetwork with a PC ornotebook computer. Thesoftware supports allMitsubishi frequency invertersof the FR-A 500 and FR-E 500series.

The PC can be connected tothe inverters either via anRS485 network or directlywith the optional SC-FR PCadapter cable.

● Parameter settings:You can check and adjust avariety of parametersquickly and easily. Includesboth tabular and function-based display options.

COSIROP and COSIMIR - Robot Programmingand Simulation Software

COSIROP

COSIROP runs underMS Windows operatingsystems. It is theprogramming, configuration,online and diagnosticssoftware package for allMitsubishi robots. It can beused to write programs in theMOVEMASTER COMMANDand MELFA BASIC languagesand transfer them back andforth between the PC and therobot’s controller. The

package comes with acomprehensive range ofpowerful functions that makethe robot programmer’s workfaster, easier and moreeffective.

COSIMIR – Cell-orientedrobot simulation with PCs

COSIMIR is the 3D robotsimulation system for allMitsubishi robots. It runs onall PCs with 32-bit MSWindows operating systems.

COSIMIR has functions forplanning the robot work cell,checking the accessibility ofall programmed positions andoptimising the layout. Allmovement sequences andhandling operations can besimulated without hardwareto eliminate collisions andoptimise cycle times. Afterthorough testing andsimulation you can thendownload your programsdirectly to the robot’scontroller via the standardRS232 serial port or theoptional Ethernet (TCP/IP)interface. The Ethernetinterface can also be used tolink the controller to theInternet, enabling you tomodify programs and performservice functions fromvirtually any location.

COSIMIR supports fullsimulation of complete robotcells. This means that inaddition to the robot’s ownmovements you can alsosimulate its interaction withits environment. COSIMIRenables realistic simulation of

gripper and transportoperations. To simulate theelectrical connectionsbetween cell components inCOSIMIR you just connect theinputs and outputs, just asyou would in the realproduction cell. For example,to be able to activate aconveyor belt with an outputsignal in the robot programyou just need to connect oneof the robot controller’ssimulated digital outputs withthe conveyor’s input.

Programming in the robot’slanguages

COSIMIR supports all therobots of the MitsubishiMELFA series. You can writeyour programs in theMOVEMASTER COMMAND orMELFA BASIC languages andthen simulate them directlyon the PC. You don’t need tolearn an additional simulationlanguage in addition to robotprogramming language. Thissignificantly shortens thelearning curve with thispowerful simulation software.

MELSHORT2 is asoftware package thatprovides all thefunctions needed forplanning anddimensioningswitchgear systems.

Increasingly demandingtechnical specifications andaccountability regulations aremaking switchgearconfiguration much morecritical than it used to be. Inthe past, software forcalculating and dimensioningswitchgear was helpful –nowadays it’s absolutelyessential.

Mitsubishi Electric’sMELSHORT2 is a completesoftware package thatprovides all the functionsneeded for successfulswitchgear systemconfiguration and layout. Itsupports all moderninternational electricalengineering standards andshines with simple andreliable operation.

The program calculates theshort-circuit levels andcurrents at all necessarypoints for all switchgearcomponents, including thepower supply transformerand circuit breakers, theemergency generators, theindividual motor andcapacitor group branchcircuits and all the otherpower distribution circuits,down to the last circuitbreaker. This makes itpossible to select the idealbreaker for every task, foroptimum performance andcost-efficiency.

MELSHORT2 has acomprehensive range ofpowerful, easy-to-usefunctions, including:

● Selective shutdown

● Backup protection

● Coordination with the mainpower supply systems

● Allowance for the start-upcurrents of electric motors

These functions make itpossible to optimise the

configuration of yourswitchgear equipment for thespecific requirements of yourapplications.

The calculated results, thehardware model suggestionsand the wiring diagram withall the relevant values can beprocessed and used asdocumentation for theswitchgear installation.Another welcome extra is thefree Internet update service.
