Microso Oce Publisher 2010Lesson PlansMicroso Oce Publisher 2010:Lesson Plans

    Introducon

Preparing to teach courses on Microso Oce Publisher 2010 for the rst me can be a challengerequiring careful planning and organizaon. The Microso IT Academy provides these lesson plans to

help you save me, skillfully manage the teaching environment, and successfully communicate the

    intended lesson.

The lesson plans are exible and have been created in a concise format of small teachable units to

allow you to use them with any textbook. To support a textbook-independent teaching style, each

lesson plan contains suggested demonstraons and explanaons.

The lesson plans have been developed to be independent of a predened lesson schedule. Whether

the course is taught in a semester or quarter term format, we suggest the following class format: a

    60-minute lesson followed by a 120

    -minute lab (hands

-on performance) session. This model is rec-

ommended in order to increase student performance and enhance the knowledge and skills gained

through acve parcipaon in the course.

    Each lesson plan includes:

    Learning Goals for each lesson.

Learning Objecves that may be observed throughout the lesson.

Lecture Outline that details what to present in each class.

Tech Tips to remind you of items that may require explanaon.

Alternave Methods for task compleon that explain shortcuts.

Hot Keys, or keyboard shortcuts, introduced in the lesson plan to be used at your discreon.

Quick Quiz of mulple choice and true/false quesons.

Lesson Projects directly connect the student with the materials provided in the lesson. The pro-

jects may be used independently of a textbook or as an assessment to determine skill mastery.

To simplify the scoring process, an annotated answer key for each project is included to ade-

quately determine whether the learning objecve was accomplished through a process of lec-

    ture and acvity.

Mulmedia resources at the end of each unit pull together a wide variety of online video re-

sources that are all available for classroom use at no charge through your IT Academy member-

ship. These resources can be used in class or by students for self-paced instrucon and lesson

    reinforcement outside of class.
