SENIOR THESISMy senior thesis project is a community
center called The Grapevine. “Cultivating knowledge” is The Grapevine’s mission.
It partners with the major museums and theaters in Dallas to bring programs to
Uptown. The design concept for the space stems from studies of plants and formal
gardens. The symmetry of formal gardens ƪǡƤǤǡǡ
interior material selections. Natural wood and eco-friendly products are prominent Ǥơfeatures a living wall with rows of small
succulent plants. The space brings the outdoor environment of Klyde Warren
ǡof a casual street café. The name “The
Grapevine” comes from both the plant and the phrase “heard it through the ǡdzƪ
center as a source for urban connection.

SENIOR THESISMy project is located in Uptown Dallas.
KlydeWarren Park connects this neighborhood with Downtown Dallas and
the Arts District. Uptown is in need of a gathering place: a cultural connection to
the city. The Grapevine is a community ƤǤǡǡǡơơ
places for socializing with friends. The casual restaurant is open all day as a
place to grab a quick bite or linger for the Ǥǡǡ
healthy options. Elevators at the entrance easily lead to the community center above.
The second level houses a dance and yoga ǡǡ

special events. Posters lining the walls advertise current cultural events around Dallas as well as promoting programs in
the community center.

CLASSROOMI designed this project while studying ǡǤ
create a space that would become a part ǡ
from it. The space is made up of large ǡ
by artists and related to Florence’s rich Renaissance history. This material makes
the panels easy to transport. The panels will start out blank. Anyone can come

KITCHEN DESIGNThe kitchen design project is part of a larger residential design project. The
ǡI designed the rest. The kitchen is one of
the spaces I focused on developing. I met with professionals from The Kitchen Source in Fort Worth to create a functional kitchen
that meets my clients’ needs.

OUTDOOR PAVILIONThe outdoor pavilion that is part of my
residential project was inspired by an object given to me by my client. My object ǡ
my client from her grandmother’s Victorian house. I based the design of my pavilion
on the curves of the bracket and its overall shape. There are also both public and
ǡmany details of the bracket.

HERITAGE CENTERƤ
project designed to occupy three galleries in the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. The project started out with a story from my family history. My great uncle fought
ǡǡnot knowing if he would return. They
communicated only through letters. Their strong relationship is inspiring to me. The
ǡǡǡǡ
and the strong bond kept constant through the letters.
