To provide a solution, we have teamed up with experienced Melett UK to provide an assembled and balanced CHRA for your Land Rover. Each CHRA is supplied with serial number and a VSR balance printout and carries a 12 month guarantee. The VSR (Vibration Sort Rig) is a machine that uses compressed air to spin the assembled CHRA to a relatively high speed, while pressure oiling the bearings and sensing vibration of the unit. Small unbalance corrections are then made on the compressor nose or nut to fine or trim balance the unit. Ensuring you of a tested and guaranteed unit. In conclusion, the key to maximum life out of a turbocharger is proper selection of components, precision balancing of those components; and careful assembly of the turbo. Ensure the casings of the inlet and exhaust bodies are undamaged. Gaskets, seals, oil and oil filter along with the air filter should be changed. As new turbos are identified for development, Melett’s technical team take several original samples and thoroughly analyse their dimensions, surface finishes, tollerances and materials, to gain a deep understanding of the whole assembly. Bearmach carried out a CHRA replacement on the Td5 Turbo charger, reference: PMF100460R. This was done under workshop conditions and carried out by our Technical Team and completed in 30 minutes. An easy fix once the unit is removed from the vehicle. The replacement Cartridges are offered at a fraction of the price of a complete Turbo charger unit and are offered as a budget option for the end user.
