Loyola Catholic School News Discover the Difference at Loyola Catholic School.
Last week LCS joined schools across the nation in celebrating National Catholic Schools Week. Highlighting the week were our CSW Mass, celebrated this year with Bishop LeVoir from the New Ulm diocese; daily activities and dress-up days; the collection for Project Community Connect; and reaching out to express our gratitude for the support we have received—and continue to receive--from the parishes of Holy Rosary, St. John the Baptist, St. Joseph the Worker, and Saints Peter and Paul; the School Sisters of Notre Dame; generations of families and alumni; and the local community.
Did you know? Our senior class made a three-day retreat this week at Koinonia Retreat Center in Annandale. High school classes make a retreat each year, and our second graders make a retreat each spring in preparation for First Holy Communion.

How come I gotta stand in the corner for being bad?”
The call to Jesus’ Table
To help our 2nd Graders better understand their journey to 1st Communion, we will make a visit to Jesus’ table at the Last Supper. We will meet the Apostles and hear their stories and why they came to the Lord’s table.
I am in need of 12 men and 3 women over the age of 21 to help put on a re-enactment of the Last Supper. No experience needed. There are no speaking parts - just a great opportunity to share your faith with our young children and fellow parishioners. The performance will be Wednesday, February 19th with two practices before hand.
I will also need help with costumes and directing.
For more information, contact Connie at 625-3450 or [email protected]
Adult Volunteers Needed: We are in need of parish members who will serve as Table Leaders during the six weekly prep sessions of our confirmation candidates. We need four Leaders at St. Joseph the Worker and one at Holy Family.
The Table Leaders will share their faith experiences and lead the discussion in small groups of four candidates and their sponsor/mentors.
Training for Table Leaders is provided. For more information, please contact Connie at 625-3450 or [email protected]

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This weekend’s memorial of the
Presentation of the Lord in the Temple
doesn't usually fall on a Sunday. But
whatever day of the week it does
usually fall on, it is associated with a
long-standing tradition of celebrating
the special vocation to the consecrated life. In fact,
almost every year on February 2nd, the Pope
celebrates a special liturgy in St. Peter's Basilica in
Rome, to which he invites all the members of religious
orders and other consecrated men and women who
are living in Rome. Usually, thousands of them come
together for the celebration.
The vocation to the consecrated life is associated
with today's Gospel passage, because when men or
women consecrate their lives entirely to the service of
God and the Church, they are offering themselves in
a way similar to how Mary and Joseph consecrated
Jesus. They present themselves to God, in response
to a call that they feel deep in their hearts, and
surrender their lives entirely to him, promising to live
in poverty, chastity, and obedience for their whole
lives.
The fact that God calls some of us to follow him in
such a radical way is yet another proof of his interest,
his love, his respect for every human life - we really
matter to him! In particular, join me in thanking Fr.
Don Rauscher, SJ and Fr. Ted Hottinger, SJ, our
resident Jesuits at St. Joseph the Worker who help us
out from time to time. We also thank the School
Sisters of Notre Dame that continually live out their
mission in our community and beyond. What a
blessing to have several of them join us each
weekend to celebrate the Eucharist! With them as a
beautiful example of following God’s call…let us
respond in the same faithfulness! Let us continue to
pray for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated
life!
God is good! Fr. Tim
And With Your Spirit
