Comments
Sandown Town Council
• I do believe we do not need lifeguards as they only cover a small area of the beach and so not money worth spending.
• The extra litter bins should be paid for by the IOW council not Sandown.
• Beach cleaning and seafront decorative lighting to be pursued with IWC council.
• High Street Bunting
• We must present Sandown a seaside destination.
• Regatta need to update
• Sandown needs its blue Cross award to maintain its tourist trade

Sandown Town Council
• Sandown needs its blue Cross award to maintain its tourist trade
• But not fireworks (in relation to Q3)
• I would like to see resources spent on all of the above. However, I understand that priority must be applied. Your form does not allow for this. Scoring would be more helpful than yes now answers.
• Street furniture looks neglected e.g. railings and lamp posts etc. Could Island Roads (if responsible) be encouraged to take action.
• The town has been nominated as finalist in “Britain in Bloom”. The council I hope will recognise this achievement and make funds available to enhance the look of the town. Contract to be encouraged to tidy and paint the street furniture with Island Roads.
• Flag Pole at Pier brought into use.
• Improve decorative lighting on pier and high street.
• Sort out dog poo problem

Sandown Town Council
• Regular newsletter online (monthly) and printed quarterly.
• Object to burning money (fireworks) support green towns but carnival and regatta should be self-funding.
• More defibrillators in town
• Non-Solar seafront lighting turned off at midnight.
• Flags – colourful flags by the pier. Poles are already there. Flags need no watering, maintenance, too high for vandalism, take down in winter to preserve.
• I agree that beach safety needs reconsidering. The current contract with the RNLI is neither on thing nor the other.
• STC needs to appreciate it has an important role in PR and Marketing of the town. E.G. Scooter Rally in August is a big opportunity. ‘Welcome to Sandown banners… prominent and nicely designed for photo opps’.
