But because Abortion Pill Re- versal is under attack and its one of the services we offer, its important that you understand the legitimacy of the process. A chemical abortion (legal in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy) involves 2 steps, both taken orally: 1. Mifepristone (RU-486)—taken first, blocks the effects of progesterone, a hormone necessary for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus 2. Misoprostol (Cytotec)—taken 2-3 days later, causes the deceased fetus to be expelled through premature labor From the moment a woman takes the first abortion pill, she has about 72 hours to change her mind and save her baby. The abortive process is halted through doses of progesterone taken usually in pill form. Our WPC Medical Director stands ready for the call from Heartbeat Interna- tionals Abortion Rescue Hotline. Likewise, our nurses are prepared to follow the protocol for immediate treatment. The care plan will continue through the 12 th week, with ultrasounds each week monitoring the babys progress. The number of chemical abortions performed each year is rising. In 2020, it is likely they will ac- count for over 40% of all first trimester procedures performed. No woman should ever feel forced to finish an abortion she regrets. Thankfully, our ND legisla- tors agreed that reversal information should be given to patients when chemical abortions are provided. Bravo! Thank you very much! You should know: The protocol used in the reversal process is nothing new. In fact, progesterone has been used routinely and safely with pregnancy since the 1950s. A 2018 peer-reviewed study showed the following positive results: 64%-68% of the pregnancies were saved through Abortion Pill Reversal There was no increase in birth defects There was a lower preterm delivery rate than the general population So there you have it. Lets celebrate the opportunity to reverse regret! Jill

pre·rog·a·tive: an exclusive or special right, power, or privilege

I’ve heard it said and have repeated it several times myself, “It’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind.”

So why then, in this age of my body – my choice, is a woman’s desire and decision to reverse a chemical abortion so disdained and maligned? They claim Abortion Pill Reversal is supported by “unscientific” data. However, the inconvenient evidence speaks for itself…just ask the 750 babies saved so far.

Typically, I do not give space in our newsletter to discuss abortion. We are not the political arm of the prolife movement; we’re the practical helpers. As such, I’d much rather share all the amazing things God is doing through our work and your support. But because Abortion Pill Re-versal is under attack and it’s one of the services we offer, it’s important that you understand the legitimacy of the process.

A chemical abortion (legal in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy) involves 2 steps, both taken orally:

1. Mifepristone (RU-486)—taken first, blocks the effects of progesterone, a hormone necessary for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus

2. Misoprostol (Cytotec)—taken 2-3 days later, causes the deceased fetus to be expelled through premature labor

From the moment a woman takes the first abortion pill, she has about 72 hours to change her mind and save her baby. The abortive process is halted through doses of progesterone taken usually in pill form. Our WPC Medical Director stands ready for the call from Heartbeat Interna-tional’s Abortion Rescue Hotline. Likewise, our nurses are prepared to follow the protocol for immediate treatment. The care plan will continue through the 12th week, with ultrasounds each week monitoring the baby’s progress.

The number of chemical abortions performed each year is rising. In 2020, it is likely they will ac-count for over 40% of all first trimester procedures performed.

No woman should ever feel forced to finish an abortion she regrets. Thankfully, our ND legisla-tors agreed that reversal information should be given to patients when chemical abortions are provided. Bravo! Thank you very much!

You should know: The protocol used in the reversal process is nothing new. In fact, progesterone has been used routinely and safely with pregnancy since the 1950s. A 2018 peer-reviewed study showed the following positive results: • 64%-68% of the pregnancies were saved through Abortion Pill Reversal • There was no increase in birth defects • There was a lower preterm delivery rate than the general population

So there you have it. Let’s celebrate the opportunity to reverse regret! Jill

Tog Save Lives!

Giving Back in Creative Ways

To show the love of Jesus in their hearts, the Kindergarten classes at Sacred Heart held a baby shower for our babies! Shortly after this picture was taken, they sang Peace Like a River more sweetly than I’ve ever heard before. Truly, my

heart was filled with JOY like a fountain!

News from Earn While You Learn

Want to creatively give back, too? Here are a couple ideas to

get you started! • Set up a monthly donation

of diapers via Amazon that ships directly to the Center

• Pick one item from our wish-list every month to pick up and drop off at the Center

• Watch clearance/sale items—we store the next season so we can have a

great stock!

Fun fact: Want to know why we go

through Size 4, 5, and 6 diapers so fast? One box of 132 Size 5 diapers will supply only 3 or 4 families with the diapers they need until their next appoint-ment. Currently, we have on

average 15 families a week who use those bigger sizes!

Items we do NOT accept:

• Used car seats • Crib bumpers & outdated

cribs • Baby powder

We are currently amazed at your generosity and the way

you, our community, has stepped up to show love to our

clients. With that, we need some time to sort and let items get into our clients homes, so

please hold off for now on donations of used items.

We will inform the community of when we are ready and able to accept more. Thank you for understanding and thinking of

us!

This is what the generosity and kindness of one church can look like! Church of Christ collects various items from our

wish-list EVERY month, and to say they bless our clients is an understatement. NEW diaper bags and Pack N Plays are a

rare item in our store.

“She” did it, and we couldn’t be more

proud of her...working full-time, living on her own,

taking care of her two-year old, and finishing high

school. What a gift it has been to be part of her life.

We are her biggest fans, and we’ll be there cheering her on!

All we could say was WOW!

The Red River High School National Honor Society held a donation drive for our Baby Boutique and blessed us beyond measure. There was no end to the bags of goodies. The kids were so excited, they weren’t sure what to touch first. How fun for them to experience Christmas in April as the goodness of “kids caring for kids” brightened our day!

Google this website and see if an Embrace Grace group would be a good fit for your church. We can help you get started! What a gift this program would be for the single moms-to-be in our greater community.

I’m excited to be joining the WPC as a nurse. I’m wife to Luke for 14 years and mom to Jack (10), Will (6) and Adeline (4). I grew up in GF and attended UND. After working a short period in the NICU here, I moved to the twin cities to work at St Paul Children’s Hospital in the NICU. My 10 years there was a time of huge personal and spiritual growth in tak-ing care of so many fragile babies- alongside seeing Christ work in the beauty and brokenness of so many difficult situations. I loved caring for this population and really grew my nursing skills as well as my faith to be able to well care for so many critical and dying patients and their families. It was a season where I learned God had given me a gift of car-ing for people in difficult situations. Through His strength in me, I could provide care far beyond what I could do in my own human strength. In 2010 we ventured to CA for 6 years where I was home with my kids. We came back to Grand Forks 3 years ago. I had been gone from the area for 17 years. Since returning, I have heard so many wonderful things about the WPC. I worked flex in the NICU at Altru until recently when I knew something new was to come. I’m excited to join the staff at WPC, meeting with clients on various needs. My past mom/baby experience, losses at work and faith has equipped me for this new area. I know without a doubt that what mat-ters most as a nurse in EVERY situation - is to give love. While the rest certainly matters, how we treat and love our patients matters most and I’m excited to be able to provide that here.

Thank you, Medora Decker!

For 5 years you served the women and men of our community with compassion and understanding.

Thank you for sharing yourself and your story with those who needed to

see the never-ending goodness of God’s plan. May blessings follow

you to your new assignment in the NICU!
