your job. So, you have to be able to say phone

numbers correctly.

Saying Telephone Numbers

With telephone numbers, each digit is stressed

and said separately.

Notes for Saying Telephone Numbers

Notice that 0 can be read either oh orzero.

Also, notice that the numbers are grouped into

two, three orfour digits: five eight / six two

one (58-621). If the same number occurs, the

word double is used: double eight / three five

eight (88-358).

Country code and area code are also said asgroup. For example: the country code for

Australia is 61, Nagasaki is 958 and Japan 81.

In filling out a form, hotel guests write their

addresses themselves; hotel staff have to check and

sometimes repeat those addresses.

To ask for a person s address, you can say:

Whats your address / home address, please?

Whats your office address, Mr. Smith?

Could I have your office address, Ms. Nina?
