Our laboratories offer automated and validated

processing of blood, plasma, serum, tissue, urine,

saliva, CSF and stool biospecimens. From sample

collection to nucleic acid extraction or tissue

microarray construction, we can take care of all the

pre-analytical activities on your samples.

standardized and formally validated, their

performance is continuously monitored. This

minimises pre-analytical variation and ensures the

TESTING

Our Proficiency Testing (PT) programme is an

external quality assessment tool that lets you

verify and benchmark the performance of your

biospecimen processing or testing methods. It

encompasses a whole range of methods, from

nucleic acid and PBMC extraction, to cell viability

and RNA integrity assessment.

How does it work?

We produce standardized samples and ship them

to your laboratory. You will then use your routine

processing or testing methods to extract or

characterise the samples. Once all the participating

laboratories have submitted their results, we perform

statistical analyses and benchmarking. In the end,

you receive a Certificate of Participation and a

personalized report.

Why participate?

PT will allow you to verify the precision, accuracy and

efficiency of your lab methods, to benchmark your

performance and to comply with several certification

& accreditation requirements. Through regular

participation in a PT programme you will also be

able to improve your performance and monitor its

consistency over time.

THE UNIVERSITY BIOBANKING CERTIFICATE

UNIVERSITYBIOBANKINGCERTIFICATE

In an effort to share our biobanking expertise, we have developed a lifelong learning course in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg. The Principles of Biobanking course uniquely combines environmental and clinical principles of biobanking into one trans-disciplinary university certificate covering all technical, scientific and ethical/legal aspects.

Aims & Outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide the theoretical,

operational and practical knowledge required to

facilitate the activities of existing biobanks and assist

in the creation of new ones. It encourages exchange

of knowledge and skills across different thematic

groups involved in biospecimen conservation, storage,

science and research.

Interactive format

The course is organized in the form of an intensive

three week seminar, with a written examination and

a certificate from the university. It incorporates site

visits, practical demonstrations and tutorial-based

discussion sessions. The course is taught by a team of

enthusiastic instructors representing different clinical

and environmental disciplines.
