Meet Freshman: Ryan Judy “Don’t you ever feel like you’ve been destined for something bigger than your skin?” This song lyric is something I live by day to day. It is also something that keeps me going, a reason to wake up in the morning, and more importantly part of the reason I strive to be the best I can be on a daily basis. Growing up in Mentor has shaped me to who I am and has allowed me to have a growing experience, but I’m ready to move on to something bigger at Ohio University. University NEWSsuitable for me. Growing up in Mentor has shaped me to who I am and has allowed me to have a growing experience, but I’m ready to move on to something bigger at Ohio University.

Music, friends, and family take up most of my life. Music has really affected me through out my life. It has been something I can always count on and something I can confide in. It was about 9th grade when the power of music really hit me with Brand New’s The Devil & God are Raging Inside Me. The album showed me a whole different side to music and life in general.

Ryan Judy(cont’d from page 1)Ever since then I’ve taken an interest in extremely meaningful, lyrically genius music. Don’t get me wrong though, my music variety goes in full circle. I try to listen to every different kind of genre possible. My friends and family are my support system and I can always count on them to be there. Like most people, my friends are the reason whyI’m alive and I know we’re always going to stay close. My family has always accepted me for who I am and support my decisions.

I don’t have many hobbies, but I do take an interest in plenty of things. Making movies, photography, concerts, traveling, and writing are things

that I love. My long-term goals include helping produce a movie, be on a stage in front of thousands of people, write a book, and travel to as many countries as possible.  I’m excited for a new start at OU and to finally start my life. I think this is where I’m meant to be and somewhere where I can find myself.
