The Anguana of the river Meduna

A popular legend

A long time ago every river had an Anguana. The Meduna’s anguana was named Medulina. Her job was to protect the waters of the river. She was a beautiful creature, with long blond hair.

One day as Medulina was swimming, on the shores of the river Livenza there was a boy screaming and shouting for help. He had fallen from his boat.

Medulina saw the boy and saved his life. His name was Piero. He was nice and kind and they soon fell in love.

As soon as Piero kissed her she transformed into a lovely girl and they could start to talk to each other.
