SMAP III MAP METAP PROJECT:SMAP III MAP METAP PROJECT:
The overall objective of this project is to improve the enabling environment in beneficiary countries by strengthening partnership between EU/SMAP, UNEP/MAP and the World Bank/METAP in order to ensure the proper allocation of resources and sustainable implementation of the SMAP III.

d) ensure that strategies and policies developed by SMAP III ICZM projects will be considered by policy-makers; and
e) encourage and support efforts at regional level for a common policy framework for ICZM.

c) strengthen the institutional and legal framework, as well as stakeholders participation;

ABOUT THE PROJECTABOUT THE PROJECT
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and the EU.
• Project is implemented in the following countries:
• Project duration is by December 2008.• Despite very worrying trends on the Mediterranean and world's coasts, the urgency for change is not sufficiently recognised neither among the policy-makers, nor among the general public.
