This manual has been compiled to assist you during your stay. Should you require further assistance please feel free to contact the Operations Hub by using the intercom in the lounge area at any time.

Section 1: Communication Intercom System Press the silver button at the bottom

of the intercom to light up the main screen Select 100 on the number pad Then press the green “CALL” button An audible ring tone will sound indicating

the call is being connected An operator will respond via face to

face communication

Bedside phone Available for internal calls only. For all other

phone calls please use your personal device or the public phone located on Level 3 (refer to map on page 6).

Medihotel Call CentreTo use please dial 42760 and listen to the prompts.

If you have any health related concerns PRESS 3 If this is about a chronic or existing

condition please hang up and contact your GP/usual medical doctor (outgoing calls must be made on your personal telephone device).

If you need immediate medical assistance please hang up and go to the Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department, located on Level 3, A Block, Victoria Street Entrance as shown on your map.

Section 2: Emergency Procedures Please refer to the induction video for detailed information and to help familiarise yourself with the emergency procedures.

An evacuation diagram with directional signs and instructions is located on the back of your room door as well as the front entrance corridor. This outlines your emergency exit routes.

Important advice may be broadcast to your television and will override the normal function, providing you with essential updates related to your stay.

In the event of a power outage, the battery operated emergency lights will turn on automatically in each room and the corridor.

There is a First Aid Kit available in the kitchen area for minor injuries.

In the event of Smoke/Fire If you hear the fire alarm or are advised to evacuate, follow these steps:

Check for any danger in your surroundings, open the door from your room and if there are no signs of smoke, go to the Medihotel common area to await assistance.

If it is not safe to wait or there is smoke in the area, leave via your closest emergency exit and make your way down the stairs to level 9. Once on level 9, exit the stairs and seek further assistance from staff in the area. LIFTS are not to be used

If you detect any smoke or fire, please make your way to level 9 via the closest emergency exit and raise the alarm with staff on level 9.

If it is unsafe to leave your room, please alert staff by calling 55 on the phone by your bedside

If you are unable to make your way down the staircase, please wait on the landing inside your nearest emergency stairwell exit for assistance.

If you cannot make you way to the RPH Emergency Department, please use the Medihotel Call Centre option 42760 on your bedside telephone, Press 3 and select option 1 to be put through to a Senior Nurse within the hospital.

Please note, there are no health professionals/clinical staff located in the RPBG Medihotel.

For Non-Urgent Medical ConcernsPlease call and discuss with your usual medical doctor.

Section 3: Room Features SafeThere is a Safe located in your room to store your valuables. It requires you to set your own personal code by following the steps below.

How to use your safe:

Setting Your Code: (With the safe door open)

Press the red Setup Button - located in the left side of the back door, next to the hinges. See Safe setup button image.

Now: (While the LED light is YELLOW) Enter your new code (1 – 10 digits –

numbers only) Press the # key The LED light will turn off Your personal code has now been set.

It is highly recommended to leave the safe door open and test your new code before closing and locking the door.

Don’t use the # or * key within your code

Unlocking and locking of safe:

Enter your new personal code followed by # to open (door will unlock automatically)

Hold door closed and enter your code followed by # (door will lock automatically)

If keypad is non-responsive please inform a member of staff by using the intercom located in the common area.

If you forget your code or are having difficulty with access, please use the Medihotel Call Centre option on your bedside phone to contact a staff member.

Please ensure that the Safe is empty and left open at the end of your stay.

Temperature Control Panel (Air-Conditioning)Each room has been fitted with a temperature control panel for your comfort. It uses touch screen technology to enable you to set the temperature that is right for you.

You do not have to choose a cooling or heating option as this ‘smart’ technology has sensors to do that for you.

Electric Blinds The window blinds are controlled using the remote located next to the windows.

Lights Ceiling Lights

There are 2 switches to control your bedroom lights. One is located at your entrance door and a second located next to your bed.

Lamps

There are wall lamps located above your bedside table and desk. These have a switch to turn lamp On/Off.

Bathroom Lights

Bathroom lights are controlled by switches located beside the bathroom door.

Sleeper Chair The Sleeper chair has been provided as a comfortable sleeping option for your carer.

Please note, this chair is on wheels so when operating, ensure the brakes are engaged.

Push down on red brakes to engage

Pull front handle away from backrest

Rolling chair in

Ensure red brakes 1 are engaged. Pull the handle 3 on the back rest to

release the chair. Gently roll the chair inward towards

upright position until you hear the chair ‘click’ back into locked position.

Do not sit on chair until it is ‘locked’ in upright position.

Rolling chair out

Ensure brakes are engaged by pushing down on the red brakes 1 on each of the front wheels.

Pull the front handle 2 away from the back rest.

You will hear a ‘click’ which indicates the chair is unlocked. Roll this out into a horizontal position.

Please note Not suitable for transport. Do not sit of place extra weight on head

area of sleep surface. Excess weight may cause chair to tip.

Television (TV)Your TV is controlled by the touch panel located next to you bed.

The TV may also display important messages from Royal Perth Hospital staff members. Please take note of these messages as they appear.

Linen Towels are not routinely replaced during your stay. We encourage guests to hang and re-use where possible.

Dirty towels can be placed in the linen basket within your bathroom.

If you wish to request extra blankets, pillows or towels, please speak to one of our friendly staff members by using the Medihotel Call Centre from your bedside telephone.

Alternatively, you can ask one of our cleaning staff directly who will be in the Medihotel between 10am-12pm daily.

Cleaning Royal Perth Bentley Group cleaning staff will be on-site in the Medihotel daily between the hours of 10am-12pm. They will provide cleaning services for common areas and will provide room cleans following check-out.

Cleaners will not be providing individual room cleans during your stay, so please keep your room clean and tidy.
