Hello and welcome to Medics Direct. I am Dr. Kate Goldie. When I started my Medical Cosmetics career several years ago I met a lot of people who trained in these treatments but didn’t actually go on to have a successful practice. Without clinical or business support or the back-up of peers and colleagues, they found themselves isolated in a competitive industry. That’s when I started Medics Direct. Medics Direct is set up to give you the highest level of training and to give you the clinical and business support needed to launch a successful and flourishing medical cosmetics career. Not only that, you become part of a network of over 170 practitioners, sharing knowledge, experience and ideas. And by continual learning through our free masterclasses you can keep your skills up to date and together we can create an industry with a reputation for clinical excellence, ethical and caring practice and effective results.

Medics Direct Training and Support is hands-on and equips you to begin or enhance your medical cosmetics practice immediately. There is a strong focus on good consultation, client care, assessing clients and providing aftercare and follow up support. We will also give you advice on setting up your business and how to avoid the pitfalls. And once you have finished your training, your journey is just beginning.

After the course we will help you set up your insurance, order products and kit and give you a prescribing process that is robust and verified by all Governing Bodies.

You will have access to on-tap clinical advice, have the opportunity to come for follow-up training, free masterclasses and product launches.

Q. What is Medics Direct?

Medics Direct is a limited company set up to provide Medical Cosmetics training courses with business and clinical support to Registered Nurses, Doctors and Dentists throughout the UK. The company is headed up by Medical Professionals and run with the needs of Medical Professionals at heart.

At Medics Direct we aim to provide the highest level of training in the Medical Cosmetics Industry, using evidence-based and effective products that will form the basis of a successful career for Medical Professionals. Q. Which course should I start with?

Any of our training courses could be the starting point for a Medical Cosmetics career but most practitioners find that the Foundation Botox and Dermal Fillers course forms the basis of their practice and start there. From this point you can either broaden your range of treatments on offer by training in Skin Peels, Mesotherapy or Microsclerotherapy or enhance your Botox and Dermal Fillers techniques with our Advanced course.

You will also be able to move onto Mentoring and Teaching Medical Cosmetics.

Q. How soon can I get started?

We run training courses throughout the UK. See our section on course dates or contact us for dates of introductory evenings and courses near you. After you have completed your training, you will be given the opportunity to access further supervision if you feel this is required (travel may be necessary to your nearest available mentor). We will help you to organise your medical cosmetics insurance and you can start immediately.

Q. I have already done some Medical Cosmetics training but did not practice after it, would I still need to do the foundation course?

If you have already trained in medical cosmetics please contact us and we will agree on the best way forward as a Medics Direct practitioner.

Q. I am a Doctor - how can Medics Direct help me?

As well as the very best medical cosmetics training, Medics Direct will support you in order to make your Medical Cosmetics practice as successful, smooth running and as free from paperwork as possible. We will take care of the logistics so that you can concentrate on treating your patients.

We will tailor our support to suit you. If you would like to access all of the available support such as masterclasses, legislative guidance, mentoring, clinical support, marketing advice and templates, promotion of your clinics through our website, PR and advertising campaigns, product ordering, administrative services and much more, we can do that for you. If you would like to just come on a training course you can do that too.

Q. I am a nurse, how can Medics Direct help me?

Medics Direct are dedicated to protecting the place of the nurse in the Medical Cosmetics Industry. All of our protocol regarding prescribing have been verified by the NMC and MHRA as being robust and clear.

We will work to make you as successful as you would like to be whether you would like to supplement your current income or take on a challenging and exciting new career. Q. What sort of training will I get?

If you are new to Medical Cosmetics you would start with the Foundation Botox and Dermal Fillers course, where you would be trained in the theory of both Botox and Dermal fillers as well as the practical skills of injecting them. Our Advanced Botox and Dermal Fillers course will teach you more challenging techniques. Finally, the Medical Aesthetics Consultant course takes you through the most difficult techniques in Medical Cosmetics and, in addition, provides tuition in Mentoring and Teaching Medical Cosmetics.

Q. Would I be left on my own after training?

The system provides full support and constant contact, if you want it, with the Medics Direct staff. Social and educational events are organised on a regular basis.

Q. Would I be independent?

You would be working on an independent basis, hosting your own clinics, and running and promoting your own business. You would be your own boss, but you will be able to call on all the facilities of Medics Direct such as those listed in the 14 point benefits list earlier in this brochure.

Q. How much will I earn?

It depends on how many clients you wish to treat. For each average client having 1ml of Dermal Fillers, you would earn of profit of £145.00 from that treatment (suggested costs and profits are approximated and may vary depending on individual practitioner pricing.) A client having 3 areas of BOTOX® would earn you around £150.00 (this is an approximate amount and is again inclusive of all costs). This money would be earned on average in about half an hour to an hour. On this basis you can see how lucrative a career in Medical Cosmetics can be.

Q. Does the success of my business depend on any one product such as BOTOX®, or a particular brand of dermal filler, skin peel or any other treatment?

No. A very lucrative medical cosmetics business can be developed using a combination of evidence-based products and techniques. No one product is essential.

Q. I read that Medics Direct practitioners are going to be doing rejuvenation and longevity treatments. Can you tell me about this?

Please watch www.medicsdirect.com for a coming announcement about our rejuvenation/longevity beauty therapies which will be made available to all of our Medics Direct practitioners to administer to their clients in the near future.

Q. How do I get clients and where would I practice?

Most practitioners practice from local beauty salons, spas, and leisure facilities as well as with corporate clients that wish to provide medical cosmetics to clients, and employees. We will advise you on the best way to approach salons and we will also promote you on our website as well as organising nationwide advertising/promotions and publicity. In addition, the salons and spas will promote you. All this is covered in our special business seminar.

Q. Will I have my own webpage?

Yes, you will have a dedicated webpage on our Medics Direct or You Are Beautiful website with all of your details. This is supplied as part of the course benefits.

Q. Do I need insurance to practice?

The certificate you receive after you successfully complete your training course will allow you to get indemnity insurance. We can recommend a good Insurance Company.

Q. How much will the training course cost me?

Q. What do I get from the Agreement with Medics Direct and what benefits does the Agreement offer me?

The Agreement gives you and your clinics the guarantee of continuity and allows you to build a career knowing you can plan ahead. The Agreement gives you all the benefits of being a Medics Direct practitioner in regards to support, help with business development, training and advertising. In addition, it enables you to get the Medical Cosmetics insurance that is most important for your practise.
