Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients, handling sensitive information for vulnerable individuals on a daily basis. As gatekeepers, receptionists need to be confident, discrete and responsive to patient’s needs. This job is a complex one, requiring ongoing training and support. Held over two days, the RACGP NSW&ACT’s Medical Receptionist Course helps receptionists improve the patient journey and promote their practices. Led by a diverse team of experienced doctors and practice managers, the course covers a range of topics, including triage, Medicare processes, managing aggressive patients and legal liabilities. CPR training and certification are included, to better prepare receptionists for emergency scenarios. Discounts are available for practices sending multiple receptionists.
