Wheelchair AntiWheelchair Anti--Rollback Rollback

PEGGY BRUNETPEGGY BRUNET Purchasing Purchasing

Peggy Brunet joined the All Med team as Purchasing Director in August of 2003. Her responsibilities include generating purchase orders for vendors, managing inventory, accounts payable, and rebate management. Peggy also troubleshoots in times of shipping errors, shipping delays, and backorders, to ensure our customers always have the product they need.

Peggy’s favorite part of her job is “building her relationships with manufacturers over the phone”. She also enjoys working with the customer service team and helping them find products and pricing they need. According to Jason Flewelling, Director of Operations, “Peggy always has a positive attitude and is willing to help others out.”

Prior to coming to All Med, Peggy worked in the customer service department of another distributor for six years. Little known fact: Peggy’s creative idea to attach a picture of herself to her resume spurred us to call her in for her first interview with the company. Her customer service skills and distribution knowledge got her the rest of the way!

SafeSafe--t mate, t mate, a name that has been trusted by thousands of facilities nationwide since 1998, has redesigned our acclaimed wheelchair anti-rollback device. Like the original, the SM2-2 prevents a wheelchair from rolling back by grabbing the tires as the user attempts to sit or stand. However, the use of high strength plastics and robotic welding has allowed us to add more user-friendly features without increasing the weight or cost! The result, the SM2-2 fits even more chairs, has greater adjustability and increased comfort. Take a look!

1. Newly Designed Seat Lever - More seat pad adjustments. ▪ 3 Height adjustments for regular, hemi and extra low chairs

▪ 2 Depth adjustments moves pad forward to accommodate residents who slouch in their chairs

▪ Articulating / Floating Seat Pad remains in proper alignment with seat bottom for greater comfort 2. Advanced Mounting - Adjustable spring tension to accommodate a variety of seat cushions. More compatible with: ▪ Hemi / low Chairs ▪ Dual / triple axle chairs ▪ Space saver armrests

▪ Flip back armrests

▪ Bariatric Chairs 3. Temporary Override Lever Center override lever makes backing up unoccupied chair a cinch. Or opt to remove lever without effecting operation of anti-rollback device.

In her spare time, Peggy enjoys reading and watching movies. She also is a member of a pool league, and apparently is quite the shark, finishing 2nd in her league this year! She also takes any opportunity to travel, preferably to somewhere warm. She recently returned from a girls’ trip to Puerto Rico, where she discovered the Mojito!

Peggy is a great member of our team, and we are happy to have her here!

On January 8, 2008, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and product categories for the second round of the Medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) new competitive bidding program. The program is designed to improve the effectiveness of Medicare's DMEPOS payments, reduce beneficiary out-of-pocket costs, and save the Medicare program money while ensuring beneficiary access to quality DMEPOS items and services by requiring suppliers to be accredited by a Medicare-recognized accreditation organization.

Three MSA’s in Michigan were announced: Detroit-Livonia, Flint, and Grand Rapids-Wyoming, as well as the Indianapolis MSA. The second round of the competitive bid is expected to happen in 2009. Nursing Homes who are billing Medicare for any of the 8 designated product categories products will be required to be accredited as a supplier and submit a bid in order to continue to bill for their patients.

On March 20, 2008, winning bidders for Round 1 were notified that they had been selected for a bid, and given a window of 10 days to accept or decline the bid. Single payment amounts were also released, and were on average 30% below the current single payment amount. Providers will be announced soon, and the new amounts will go into effect in July 2008. FOR MORE INFORMATION OR ASSISTANCE WITH ACCREDITATION AND THE COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS, CONTACT YOUR ALL MED ACCOUNT MANAGER.
