THE BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM1. In Medical world, there is a fixed
connection between the term and its meaning.
2. Misunderstanding of the word’s meaning of the term may result in misconception.
3. In Medical world, such misconception leads to something that can endanger the process of rescuing/saving lives.
That’s why we insist that vocabulary(medical term) must be learned through semantic meaning.

WHY LEARNING WORDS THROUGH SEMANTICS IS SO IMPORTANT?
Semantics is the science of "meaning". In a medical dictionary, each word represents a concept that has a formal English definition that gives a particular meaning.
The exact meaning of a word can be determined by using the context of medical dictionary.
THE MEANING....... The sclera is generally referred to as the
white of the eye in the common language. It is a tough and an opaque tissue. Hence
it serves as the eye's protective outer coat.
There are six voluntary muscles, namely rectus (4 in number) and oblique (2 in number), that are connected to it around the eyeball. These muscles control the eye's movements.
The optic nerve is also attached to the sclera only at the back of the eye.
THE MEANING....Purkinje cells, or Purkinje neurons
(pronounced /pərˈkɪndʒiː/ pər-KIN-jee), are a class of GABAergic neurons located in the cerebellar cortex. They are named after their discoverer, Czech anatomist Jan Evangelista Purkyně (Czech: [ˈpurkɪɲɛ]).
