The Medical Center Health System is the second largest employer in Ector County with over 1,750 employees and more than 280 physicians on staff, practicing over 30 medical specialties. The Medical Center Health System is made up of Medical Center Hospital, the Center for Women & Infants, the Center for Health & Wellness, Mission Fitness, Urgent Care, ProCare, Clinics at Walmart, Family Health Clinic, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, Medical Center Health System Foundation, and the Permian Basin Healthcare Network. It also includes affiliations with Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and West Texas Cancer Center. Medical Center Hospital is licensed for 402 beds and is the only full-service hospital in Ector County. Serving as the regional referral hospital for the 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin for over 60 years, MCH is the primary teaching hospital for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Permian Basin. As the community hospital, MCH is owned by the Ector County Hospital District and governed by a seven-member district board of directors elected by Ector County voters. MCH is the leading Level III trauma facility for the region and is a leader in cardiovascular services, inpatient and outpatient therapy, diagnostic testing, bariatric, stroke, orthopedic, and women’s services. Specialty areas and services include a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, Center for Heart Disease, Diabetes Center, Family Health Clinic and Family Health Dental Clinic, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, Wound Care, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Texas Oncology/West Texas Cancer Center is conveniently located on the MCH campus and provides the most effective cancer treatments available to our community. The Cancer Program at MCH is approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
