ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (AAS)

Prepare for a career as a medical assistant. New River CTC students benefit from

cross-training in clinical and administrative responsibilities, such as direct patient care,

assisting in invasive and non-invasive procedures, scheduling appointments, and main-

taining medical records. Gain hands-on experience in an externship at a physician’s

office, clinic, hospital or other healthcare related facility. Graduates from this program

are eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association Certification Exam.
