To represent age we are portraying the teenager demographic, in particular girls. We are portraying the teenage girls as being young and carefree. At first we were planning on having a large party for the opening sequence, taking inspiration from Sorority Row where the horror film starts with a party.

However, we then decided that it would be difficult to film in a small room with lots of people, incorporating lots of camera shots. So we decided to have a small gathering where the girls came together to have a gossip and talk about people behind their backs.

• Within our opening sequence we portrayed the gender of girls as always having conflicting tensions and always trying to outdo each other. The conflicting tensions are portrayed when Stacey confronts and kills Kelly.

• We don’t know why Stacey kills Kelly which the raises the issue of representing girls as always having hidden secrets and psychological issues that we never know anything about. Stacey fits the role of portraying teenage girls in the way that her confidence and age proves to be a dominant force when she takes Kelly by the hand and drags her outside to kill her.

• In addition, Stacey also fits the teenage girl demographic in the way that she has a lot of pictures of her and her “friends” which is very stereotypical of a girl going out and taking pictures to post on a social networking site.

Our opening sequence fails to represent sexuality and disability in the way that there is no indication as to the sexuality of the girls and there are no male characters within the sequence.

• In conclusion, our opening sequence portrayed the social group of teenage girls as being very sociable and very sly when talking about others. It also portrays teenage girls as being unreliable and very unexpected!
