Mr. VanPelt—you are very important to me, considering the fact you helped me through my 8th grade year. You may not know this, but every day I looked forward to your class. You didn’t judge me and you made me laugh every class. Thank you so much for brightening up my 8th grade year! --Sydnee Miller #9, Freshman, 2013-2014

Ms. VanRie—I chose to recognize you on Teacher Appreciation Night because you made a huge impact on me educationally and personally. Aside from being a marvelous educator, you were always there for me on a personal level as well, and I know you would still be now. I could always come to you whenever I needed anything—and you have no idea how much that means to a student. Being an impactful teacher is so much more than just talking at thirty-some students—it’s treating them with the same respect, kindness, and integrity you expect from them…and I want you to know you do that very well. Thank you!

--Nicole Johnson, #5, Freshman, 2013-2014

Mrs. Prowell—I didn’t just choose you to get a good grade; unfortunately, I’m not lucky enough to have you as my teacher again this year. You have been such a great teacher to me. Even if it was unintentional, you taught me the meaning of the word “yet.” Thank you, Mrs. Prowell, for such an applicable lesson.

--Shelby Parker, #13, Sophomore, 2013-2014

Mrs. Mueller—Since the first day of school I knew you would be one of my favorite teachers! I love your enthusiasm and how much you love your job. The fact that you enjoy it so much has impacted me to want to be a teacher myself someday. Your humor is the best and the stories you tell about your kids are hilarious! I like how you listen to our stories as well too—it shows you do care about us. Coming into your class makes my day. I’m so glad I have the opportunity to have you as a teacher and can’t wait for what the year will be like!

Ms. Zornes—Thank you for teaching me that learning can be fun! I also want to thank you for pushing me to overachieve and not just accept being mediocre. Most of all, I’d like to thank you for teaching me to not stuff my bra & to accept “things’ how they are!

--“Brookie” Spalding, #10, Junior, 2013-2014

Coach Dudek is so kind and caring. She is the only teacher I’ve ever had that genuinely expressed interest in me. She actually wants to know what’s going on in my life and everyone else’s lives. She has a great heart for teaching and puts it to good use. She does so many wonderful things all the time, even if she doesn’t realize it. I appreciate her so much—she’s made a tremendous impact on my high school career.

Mr. Ransom made me a better student. He inspired me to be the best I could be. There was never one boring class and he always kept everything interesting! Mrs. Besse—You probably don’t remember me much but I definitely remember you. You are the kind of teacher who doesn’t let her students settle. Even though it was only second grade I realized then that I actually liked learning! I believe you had a lot to do with that. Even now I know I can do anything if I put my mind to it. You’ve shown me my potential and I have every intention of using it. Thank you for being a great teacher to me, and instilling in me that I can accomplish anything when I just try.

--Alyssa Folkers, Sophomore, 2013-2014

Coach Kruse—I love how you’re always full of energy, ready to take on the day. Whenever someone doesn’t feel good or they’re having a bad day, you’re always there to listen and cheer them up. Thank you for always making me strive to do my best in both school and sports.

Mr. Simon is an amazing teacher because he makes class fun and is always cracking jokes. His class always cheers me up! Mr. Simon doesn’t just lecture, he makes everything understandable. Thank you for the impact you’ve had on me this year!

--Hannah Mast, #14, Sophomore, 2013-2014

I had Mrs. Roberts my freshman year for Algebra I. She was really the only teacher I have had that taught so I could understand it. Ever since then any time I need help in Math, she’s the one I go to for help. She also knows how to handle me when I come into her class crying because I didn’t understand what was taught and we had a test the next day. She’s always available for help, even when I know she doesn’t always want to stay. Mrs. Roberts has always inspired me to do what I want to and always keep trying. “To every problem, there’s always a solution.” Thank you so much for always helping me in Math and supporting me through my breakdowns! Not sure how I would’ve

made it without you these past 3 years—and I’m looking forward to asking for more help in the next year!

--Joslyn Ortiz, Junior, 2013-2014

Mrs. Trutzel is my favorite teacher of all time. I honestly don’t think I could have had a teacher better than she was. She made a huge impact on my life! She was the sweetest and funniest teacher ever! I know when I was little I would wish she could’ve been my teacher for every grade. I feel like she’s one of the people who made me who I am today—thank you for everything you did for me. I love you very much!

--Aspen Booker, #17, Junior, 2013-2014

I chose Mrs. Lyon to recognize on Teacher Appreciation Night because she always comes into class with a smile on her face. She’s the kind of teacher that always has the student’s best interest in mind, even when some students are difficult to work with. She takes jokes well and keeps class laid-back but productive. Every day my group of friends and I would look forward to having Algebra together and seeing our favorite

Coach Kruse is an inspiring teacher/coach who is always there for me whenever I need her. She is always pushing me to my fullest on and off the court. I know that I can always go to her for anything. Thanks for being awesome!!!

--Meghan Maher, #8, 2013-2014

Coach Dudek can always put a smile on my face. She makes everyone feel important and even when we’re joking around she never makes you feel dumb. I want to be as good of a person as she is—always coming to the games to cheer and still having time for her kids and job. She always tells me I look skinny & pretty when I’m sad and always listens to my

I chose Mr. Garrison because I really look up to him. He inspired me to be who I am. He pushed me to work hard for what I want, not only in the classroom but throughout life. It sounds crazy to say that a 5th grade teacher changed your outlook on things—but I can honestly say that my 5th grade year was great. I want to thank Mr. Garrison for everything—being a great teacher, friend, and hero to me. I never took an interest in History until I had Mr. Garrison and now I’m looking at making this my career field. Thank you, Mr. Garrison!

--Katie Newton, #21, Senior, 2013-2014

Coach Cook—Ever since day one you’ve been there for me. You were one of the teachers in my science class as well as my basketball coach, and even though as a principal you gave me my first detention, you’ve taught me a lot of things! You’ve always been someone I’ve looked up to. You taught me to not really care about what other people think—and even though sometimes when I see you in the halls you give me a mean look, you still say you mean well! I want to thank you also for

what you’ve done for me this year. It truly means a lot to me—you’re still my favorite coach even though you don’t coach anymore. I look forward to 2 more years I have in high school, and even though I wear my Texas hoodie Oklahoma is still my favorite—just like you! Thanks for all you do!
