Aurangabad - The Foundation day of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar
Marathwada university was celebrated at the main auditorium hall of Uni-
versity in the presence of honourable central Minister of Consumer Affairs,
Food and Public Distribution Raosaheb Danave and various other great
personalities from education field from the city.
Professors, Teachers and Students from the university department and
various colleges affiliated to the university registered healthy attendance to
the program.
Neeta Pansare anchored the program and the program started by a
welcome song sung by the students of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharj
School.Registerar Dr D.R Mane facilitated the vice chancellor prof.B.A
chopade by giving flowers, while VC prof B.A chopade welcomed
honourable central minister Mr Raosaheb Danave and other board mem-
bers greeted the Life time award winning contenders Dr Vijay Bhatkar,Dr
UM Pathan,Mr L R Bali,Dr Himmatrao Baviskar and Mr Vijay Borade.
Foreign students and Indian students who are studying in foreign coun-
tries were also facilitated by Vice chancellor.
For the 1st time in the university history a life time achievement award
program was organised in which people from different fields who did great
job in the development of the country were given this Honour.
Registrar Dr D.R Mane gave a key note speech on how the university
and students were developed from past till now, While VC prof BA chopade
explained plans what all he is doing and is going to do for the betterment of
university and students. Thereafter all the lifetime award winners were given
the honour trophies and certificates by Honourable minister Mr Danave.

Richard Samuel Attenborough, Baron
Attenborough, CBE was an English actor, film
director, film producer, and entrepreneur. He
was the President of the Royal Academy of
Dramatic. His death was confirmed by his son,
Michael, according to the BBC. Until the early
1960s, Mr.Attenborough was a familiar actor
in Britain but little known in the United States.
In London, he wasthe original detective in
Agatha Christie's play ''The Mousetrap.'
Air India offers
Tickets for Rs 100
Before the minister was called to speak some students shouted and gave
an application to him for the central approval of the university which he
accepted.
Thereafter minister Raosaheb danave free mindedly addressed and wel-
comed the people and congratulated everyone on the occasion of 56th foun-
dation day, he also congratulated life time achievement award winners.
At last the program ended when all the award winners shared their
experience,views and relation with Dr BAMU.

This spectacular festival honors the birth of the beloved
Hindu god, Lord Ganesha, popularly worshiped for his ability
to remove obstacles and bring good fortune.
When is Ganesh Chaturthi?
Late August or early September, depending on the cycle
of the moon. It falls on the fourth day after new moon in the
Hindu month of Bhadrapada. In 2014, Ganesh Chaturthi is
on August 29. It is celebrated for 11 days (ending on Sep-
tember 8), with the biggest spectacle taking place on the last
day called Anant Chaturdasi day.

NEW DELHI- Air India will sell tickets for
Rs 100 (taxes extra) for five days from Wednes-
day — which it will celebrate as Air India Day
to commemorate the merger of erstwhile Indian
Airlines and Air India on this day in 2007.
"On this occasion Air India is launching the
Air India Offer for its travellers. Under the
scheme tickets will be offered for Rs 100 apart
from all applicable taxes. The sale of these tick-
ets will be made only through the Air India website
for five days from August 27 to 31 2014 for travel
between August 27 and September 30, 2014,
only," an AI statement said.
This is the first time that the airline will be
celebrating the Air India Day. A function will be
held to celebrate the day and also to award the
meritorious employees of Air India.

Vidyasagar Rao, appointed the
new governor of Maharashtra
Tuesday, is one of the well-known
faces of the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) in Telangana.
Hailing from Karimnagar dis-
trict, he served as the minister of
state for home in the Atal Bihari
Vajpayee government.
The 73-year-old, who uses
his Ch. as his first initial, was also
the BJP president in united
Andhra Pradesh and was elected
to the Lok Sabha twice from
Karimnagar.
Vidyasagar Rao was defeated in the 2014 gen-
eral election. He finished a poor third. B. Vinod
Kumar of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was
elected while Ponnam Prabhakar of Congress stood
second. After schooling in his native district and
intermediate in Hyderabad, he did his graduation in
science from Maharashtra. He also did LLB from
Osmania University in Hyderabad and was prac-
ticing lawyer before he became active in then Jan
Sangh.He contested from Karimnagar parliamen-
tary constituency for the first time in 1980 but as
Janata Party candidate but was unsuccessful.
C. Vidyasagar Rao, the new
governor of MaharashtraVidyasagar Rao was
elected thrice to Andhra
Pradesh assembly on BJP
ticket. He performed a hat-trick
by successively winning the
1985, 1989, and 1994 elections
from Metpally constituency in
Karimnagar district. He was
also the leader of the BJP in
the assembly.
Vidyasagar Rao entered the
Lok Sabha by winning the
1998 elections by a majority
of over 95,000 votes. He re-
tained the seat in 1999, though
with a reduced margin of 19,000 votes.
In 2004, the BJP leader lost the polls at the
hands of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Suave and soft-spoken, Vidyasagar Rao has been
playing an active role in the movement for separate
Telangana state over the last few years.
His elder brother Ch Rajeshwara Rao is a former
Communist leader and another brother Ch
Hanumantha Rao is the chancellor of Hyderabad
Central University. Meanwhile, celebrations broke
out in his native district and at the BJP office in
Hyderabad following his appointment as the gov-
ernor of Maharashtra.
