The Media Studies Study Experience immerses students in the practical applications of media principles at this world-famous theme park resort in a number of different and engaging ways:

• Through attending two Seminars hosted by facilitators with considerable experience of working with Disneyland Paris and featuring back-stage video interviews and footage filmed exclusively for Study Experiences

• By taking part in our interactive Workshop which encourages the students to use their knowledge of Media Studies principles and practices

• Completing subject-specific Assignments during their time in the Parks and at the Resort

Seminar OneSelling the Dream

Following a brief introduction to Disneyland Paris and its relationship to the global Disney organisation, students will be introduced to the work of the Resort’s Marketing team who take us through some of the core marketing principles. After considering how the 4 P’s apply to Disneyland Paris, we will investigate a selection of marketing methods, including TV advertising, brochures, social media, synergy and partnership marketing. We will also see how Disneyland Paris relies heavily on unpaid advertising that is generated by press to the Resort.

We will also find out about the work of the Market Research team and the importance Disney places on finding out exactly what the guest wants and adapting to their needs.

A typical activity will be to complete a brief media analysis of the Resort by considering its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. In addition, we will examine the Disney Values of emotion, service and creativity, an essential aspect of everyone’s work at the Resort and something that can be replicated in our own lives.

Seminar One will close with a briefing for the Workshop where students are asked to produce an advertisement for the Resort using some of the media principles they have seen in practice and heard about in the seminar.

Disney Cast Members contributing on video include Head of Marketing Gill Corley, Senior Research Manager Cyril Evrard Noize, Online Marketing Manager Rachael Fletcher, and Travel Industry Marketing Executive Tom Jacobs.

Interactive WorkshopThe Workshop provides a practical, fun, opportunity for students to apply their media knowledge to a real-life business task – to increase visitor numbers to the Resort. Working in small teams, students will use their knowledge to plan a new advertisement for Disneyland Paris. The advertisement can be in any format – poster, TV, radio, web, social media etc.

Students will need to combine their understanding of media principles with the practicalities of creating a way of promoting the Resort and the Disney Values. Particular emphasis will be given to working as a team, communicating and meeting a deadline.

At the end of the workshop teams will present their plans to a mock ‘Disney Management Panel’ comprising the facilitator and participating teachers from your group. Students will be able to follow their ideas up through the Student Challenge.

Seminar TwoGenre and Performance With an estimated 240 million people who have seen a Disney movie and 800 million who have read a Disney comic or magazine, this seminar will encourage students to consider whether there is a Disney Genre. We will begin by exploring the fascinating history of Walt Disney and his success in moving from animation into films, TV, music, theatre and theme parks.

We follow this with a brief investigation into techniques used to convert traditional Disney films, mainly based on European fairy tales, into theme parks, rides and attractions. We will also consider the importance Disney places on ‘protecting the brand’ at all times.

A typical activity will be to consider how the fantasy adventure films Pirates of the Caribbean were inspired by a theme park ride and the failure of some rides to translate into film successfully.

We’ll also examine the Resort’s parades, costuming and stage direction to show how Disneyland Paris maintains its position as Europe’s number one theme park.

Disney Cast Members appearing on video in Seminar Two include Imagineer Nigel Bratcher, Creative Entertainment Director Kat De Blois, Brand Manager, Brigitte Elmkies-Sitbon, and archive footage featuring some of the original Disney animators.

AssignmentsThe Student Workbook contains Media Studies assignments, closely linked to the seminars and workshop, that group leaders may wish their students to complete during their time in the Resort. These include:

• Choose three themed rides that you have seen at Disneyland Paris. Identify the original European myth or legend that was used to develop the creative theme. Now take another European myth or legend and describe how you would use that as the basis for a similar attraction

• Visit Walt Disney Studios Park. Audit the different film and TV techniques or symbols used to give you the impression you are in a Hollywood film lot. Suggest two other techniques that could be used to entertain guests

Educational Content Study Experiences Key BenefitsThis highly interactive learning experience includes all of these educational activities:

Subject-Specific SeminarsGroups will attend two forty-minute multimedia seminars, delivered to an audience of 100-200 students. Led by one of our team of Paris-based facilitators, with considerable experience of the Resort and its working methods, students will explore how Disneyland Paris uses many key examination topics to carry out its planning and day to day activities. Our facilitators are full time professionals selected for their presentation skills and during the seminars they will engage your students in thinking about how their subject is seen in action in the Resort.

Interactive WorkshopFor the workshop, students will initially be divided into groups of 30-40, then split into smaller teams of 8-10 and encouraged to participate in a fun, interactive learning experience with our professional facilitator. They will be treated as though they are Disney professionals and the facilitator will guide and inspire them to work as a team, meet a realistic deadline and communicate their ideas persuasively – as well as testing some core subject skills. It is highly recommended that teachers play an active part in the workshops by encouraging their students in their work and assisting the facilitator in providing feedback.

AssignmentsOur education team has created subject specific assignments to help students focus their minds whilst enjoying their time at Disneyland Paris.

Student ChallengeFollowing on from the Seminars, Workshop and Assignments, students are able to take part in the Student Challenge on their return to the UK. The Challenge enables students to develop their specialist areas of interest. Submissions will be uploaded to the Hall of Fame on the Study Experiences website.

Education SupportGroup leaders will receive a copy of the Teacher Education Guide complete with an introduction to the Study Experience, learning objectives and outcomes, a workshop briefing, background information and details of the Student Challenge. You will also receive copies of the Student Workbook that includes assignments, facts and figures, space for note-taking and a visit planner. There is also an education email “hotline” for group leaders to use should they have any queries on the content of the Seminars, Workshop, Assignments or Student Challenge.

Three Day Tour by CoachDay OneYour coach will collect you from your school or college early in the morning for the journey to the Channel port and your crossing to Calais. Once in France, the journey from Calais to Disneyland® Paris takes approximately five hours.

On arrival at Disneyland Paris, you will be met by the Study Experiences resort team, who will assist you with check-in at your hotel. The resort team will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout your stay. For dinner we recommend that you pre-book one of our meal deal options.

Day TwoAfter breakfast, your students will enjoy unlimited access to both Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park, with their One-Day Hopper Ticket.

To round off your day, we recommend once again booking one of our meal deal options.

Day ThreeDuring the morning, you will reboard your coach and begin the journey back to Calais for your return Channel crossing, arriving at your school or college during the evening.

Four Day Tour by CoachWe offer the opportunity for you to stay an extra night at Disneyland Paris, enabling you either to enjoy either a further full day in the Disney Parks or to visit Paris.

If you choose to visit Paris, which will be on either the second or third day of your tour, your coach driver will provide a short tour of the main sights prior to dropping you off at a suitable central location. You will then have free time for sightseeing.

Many groups choose to book a Bateaux Mouches Seine river cruise or visit the observation deck at Tour Montparnasse 56, providing fabulous views of Paris. See page 8 for more details.

The Four Day Tour is an excellent option for all groups. We particularly recommend it for groups travelling from the west and north of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Seminar & Workshop TimingsThe seminars and workshops will take place during the course of your stay at the Resort. We spread out the times between them so that your students are able to take the maximum benefit from their time away.

NEW – Five Day Tour with crossings Hull-ZeebruggeIdeal for groups based in the north of England and Scotland.

Days One & TwoYou will be collected by coach from your school or college and take an overnight crossing on the ferry, with cabin berths included. On arrival in Zeebrugge, you will travel on to Disneyland® Paris and enjoy your first day’s admission to both Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park. Check-in during the afternoon for your two night stay in the Resort.

Day ThreeEnjoy your second day’s admission to both Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park.

You will then need to travel back to Zeebrugge in time for your overnight crossing back to Hull, once again with cabin berths included. On arrival in Hull you will complete your journey back to your school or college.

Eurostar Travel OptionWe are able to offer both the three and four day tours with return Eurostar travel from London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford International Stations to Disneyland Paris. The Eurostar high-speed rail service brings you to the centre of Disneyland Paris from London in just over two and a half hours.

As the Eurostar service arrives during the early afternoon and departs in the evening, we offer the option to pre-book additional days’ entry to the Disney Parks. Please note that you will need to make your own travel arrangements to St Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford stations.

Flight Travel OptionWe are also able to offer both the three and four day tours with flights to Paris from your choice of Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Luton, London Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton airports.

In France, we will then provide return coach transfers between the airport and Disneyland Paris, however please note that you will need to make your own travel arrangements to and from your chosen UK departure airport.

On confirmation of your flight times, should timings permit, we will offer the opportunity to purchase additional days’ entry to the Disney Parks.

Your Itinerary ChoicesStudy Experiences offers a choice of itineraries to suit your requirements, all staying on-site at Disneyland® Paris, ensuring that for the duration of your tour, you are based within the secure environment of the Resort.

Your Group SizeOur three and four day tours are available for groups of any size. For schools and colleges travelling by coach, if you have a group size of 40 or more students, then we will provide you with exclusive use of your own 48 or 49-seat coach and return Eurotunnel Channel crossings at no extra cost. Furthermore, as you have exclusive use of the coach, we can tailor your itinerary to suit your plans, for example arranging specific visits in Paris or an extra day’s admission to the Disney Parks.

Groups of less than 40 students will be allocated a shared coach with another school or college for the journeys to and from Disneyland Paris to ensure that you do not have any coach under-occupancy costs to pay. Some teachers choose to combine with other departments to bring their student numbers up to 40 and therefore enjoy the added benefits and comforts of having exclusive use of their own coach. Study Experiences also hosts education programmes for Mathematics, Science, Business Studies, ICT and Computing, Performing Arts, Design & Technology, Health & Social Care, STEM and Leisure & Tourism.

Disneyland® Paris A complete resort experience

Your Choice of Hotel AccommodationYour group can choose to stay at one of two of Disneyland Paris’ uniquely themed on-site hotels, which recall a time and place in American history:

Like a scene from a Wild West movie, the 14 frontier style buildings of Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne are grouped around a main street of covered porches and wooden walkways. The Western styling runs right through to the bedrooms, which have one double bed and two single beds, bathroom, TV and telephone. Students are accommodated on the basis of three sharing a room at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne.

Named after the majestic American redwood trees, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is reminiscent of the famous hunting retreats found in the U.S. National Parks.

Accommodation is in the main building itself or in one of the five lodges. Decorated in hunting-lodge style, bedrooms have two double beds, bathroom, TV and telephone. Hotel facilities include an indoor swimming pool. Students are accommodated on the basis of two sharing a room at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.

Study Experiences does NOT charge any supplements for under-occupied student rooms where this is due to your breakdown of male or female students not fitting exactly into rooms of three at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, or rooms of two at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.

Breakfast at the hotel is included in the price of the Study Experience. We offer an optional evening buffet meal at the Hotel Cheyenne, bookable in advance – see page eight for prices and sample menu.

Study Experiences’ Seminar & Workshop VenueThe Gaumont multi-screen cinema, where your seminars and workshop are held, is situated at the entrance to Disney Village, just a few minutes walk from Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park. ‘Responsibility and Accountability’ DeclarationIt is the group leader’s responsibility specifically to ensure that participants act in a responsible manner during the tour and do not behave in a way likely to cause damage to property or damage or offence to other people.

It is also the group leader’s responsibility to ensure that no participant under 18 years of age consumes alcoholic drinks. No participant should consume alcohol to excess and all local laws relating to the consumption of alcohol are to be obeyed by the participants at all times.

If the behaviour of any group member causes distress, damage, danger or annoyance to other persons or property, suppliers of accommodation and transport services reserve the right at all times to demand payment to cover damage caused, cancel arrangements immediately or to eject the person(s) responsible. In such circumstances, our responsibility will cease and we will not be obliged to cover expenses, which may be incurred on the part of the party. Similarly we will not consider or accept any claims for compensation.

As group leader I have read the booking conditions and accept responsibility for the good conduct of all participants during the tour and warrant that at least one responsible adult will be on active duty at all times to ensure this.

I accept that if the behaviour of any group member causes distress, damage, danger or annoyance to other persons or property, suppliers of accommodation and transport services reserve the right at all times to charge the group for any damage caused, cancel arrangements immediately or to eject the person(s) responsible. I accept that the school/college will be held responsible for any charges incurred and that payment will be payable before departure.

TOUR PLANNING SUPPORTThe Teacher Support section of our website provides valuable support and information for you when arranging your group’s booking. It contains our Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge Certificate, full details of our Safety Management System, our travel insurance policy, passport information, suggested letter to parents and the information you need to obtain from your students.

FIVE DAY TOUR – RETURN FERRY CROSSING ARRANGEMENTS HULL–ZEEBRUGGEYour overnight crossings include cabin accommodation, based on 4 students sharing a cabin and 2 teachers sharing a cabin. Study Experiences does NOT charge any supplements for under-occupied student cabins where this is due to your breakdown of male or female students not fitting exactly into 4-sharing. You are welcome to pre-book the dinner and breakfast package for the crossings, the price is £15 per child and £30 per adult (aged 16 and over) for each overnight crossing. Both dinner and breakfast are hot, freshly cooked buffet meals. On receipt of your booking, we will send you the Cabin Sharing Chart to complete and also the Overnight Ferry Meal Package Booking Form.

TRAVEL INSURANCE We believe that travel insurance is not only to be recommended, but is absolutely essential. We therefore make it a condition of booking that all passengers are adequately covered. However as many schools, teachers and students have their own annual cover we have not included a compulsory insurance charge in the price of the Study Experience. Our own travel insurance is arranged through Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited, which is part of the Allianz Group (the largest travel insurer in Europe). Per person premiums (including Insurance Premium Tax at 17.5%) are as follows: £9.00 for students aged 15 and under, £18.00 for teachers and students aged 16 and over at date of travel. The premium should be paid at the time you send the deposit, and those taking the policy will be covered from the moment we receive their premium payment. As with all insurance policies, an excess is deductible from some claims. If you take out the excess waiver insurance, then for an extra premium of £10.00 per person, any successful claims will be paid in full to you, and no excess will be deducted. If group members have their own travel insurance, we require details of this cover. For full details of our travel insurance, please visit our website.

INSPECTION VISITShould you require a preliminary visit to Disneyland® Paris in order to satisfy school or college inspection and risk assessment criteria, please contact the Study Experiences office to register your interest.

OUR RESORT SERVICES TEAM Study Experiences’ resort services team is based at Disneyland Paris throughout your stay. On your arrival at the resort, they will meet you with your check-in pack, hotel room keys and Disney Parks entry tickets. They will assist you throughout your stay and are available whenever you need, day or night.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY OFFICE SUPPORT Study Experiences operates a 24-hour emergency paging system to provide complete security and peace of mind throughout your trip. Most problems can be dealt with quite satisfactorily by our resort services team and Disneyland Paris hoteliers, but it is reassuring to know that our office-based Operations Department is there to provide a friendly and professional service at whatever time of the day or night you might need them.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS Group leaders are entirely responsible for ensuring that all members of the group have the correct and valid documentation. We cannot accept responsibility for any failure to comply resulting in any costs or fines being incurred.

YOUR FINANCIAL PEACE OF MIND Study Experiences is the student travel division of the Newmarket Group, one of the UK’s leading group tour operators. In line with the EC Directive on package travel, all customers enjoy complete financial protection through our ABTA bond and ATOL licence, so all payments are safe.

PAYMENTS BY BACSWe are pleased to accept payments by BACS. If you wish to make your deposit payment or final balance payment by BACS, please ensure that your Provisional Booking Reference or your Invoice Number is included on the remittance advice. Our bank account details for payment by BACS are:Newmarket Promotions Ltd, NatWest Bank, Sort code: 60-17-11, Account number 20389701

GROUPS OF LESS THAN 10 STUDENTS Groups of less than 10 students may have to make their own way to another school, college or motorway service station to be picked up by their Study Experiences coach.

EUROSTAR AND FLIGHT SEATS BOOKINGSWe are unable to hold Eurostar or flight seats on a Provisional Booking basis. If you wish to travel by Eurostar or fly to Paris, call us to discuss your plans, as seats are strictly subject to availability and we process bookings on a first-come first served basis. In the unlikely event that we are unable to secure Eurostar seats, or flight seats from your chosen departure airport, at the budgeted cost, we reserve the right to increase the student price. If this is not acceptable to you, you may choose to travel by an alternative method, or have all monies paid to us returned to you in full. We therefore recommend that you make your confirmed booking as early as possible in order to secure availability for your chosen method of travel.

EUROSTAR TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS Eurostar travel is based on the once-a-day direct service from the UK to Disneyland Paris. However as there is naturally limited availability on this service, we reserve the right to use the services that require a change of train in Lille. In this instance, we will advise you of these arrangements with your booking confirmation invoice. Please note that we cannot guarantee that seats will all be allocated together for groups travelling by Eurostar.

YOUR HOTEL ACCOMMODATION In certain circumstances we reserve the right to transfer bookings at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne® to Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe® or the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris or the Kyriad Hotel at Disneyland Paris or the B&B Hotel at Disneyland Paris. Should this change be necessary, you will be advised in your Travel Documentation.

DISNEY’S HOTEL CHEYENNE®Please note that should you choose to accommodate less than three students per room then supplements will apply to our prices.

DISNEY® VILLAGE Disney® Village is the hub of Resort entertainment. Located within walking distance of your hotel and the Disney Parks, it is open throughout the day and evening. It offers great shopping opportunities and has themed restaurants to suit a wide range of tastes and budgets, including Earl of Sandwich, Starbucks, McDonalds, King Ludwig’s Castle, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Café and Annette’s Diner.

DISNEYLAND® PARISDisneyland® Paris reserves the right to cancel and/or close certain shows, parades, shops, attractions and celebrations without notice.

We require a completed rooming list from you detailing your teacher and student names, titles and ages (on date of departure). We will email you the “Study Experiences Rooming List Spreadsheet” for you to complete. Please therefore write your email address in the appropriate space overleaf.

Advise for each member of the group whether they wish to take our travel insurance. NB: It is a condition of booking that all passengers are adequately covered. If group members have their own insurance, please provide details of cover. We regret we are unable to send out Travel Documentation unless we have been notified of the insurance details for each member of your group.

If you are travelling by coach, we will pick your group up from the address you provided on the Booking Form overleaf. If your pick-up point is difficult to find, then please submit a local area map with your desired pick-up point clearly marked. If you wish to be picked up from an alternative address, please advise us in writing.

By signing the booking form you agree to the declaration of responsibility regarding your role as group leader and the conduct of your students. This will also act as your declaration of ‘Responsibility and Accountability’ that will be passed to Disneyland Paris’ security department.

If you are booking our flight travel option then you will need to submit specific passport information with your Booking Form and deposit payment in order for us to be able to book your airline seats. We will email you the “Study Experiences APIS Spreadsheet” for you to complete with all required information. All information provided must be accurate as once seats have been booked, any subsequent changes due to misspelt names etc will result in costs being charged to your booking. Our flight-inclusive tour price includes one piece of light hand luggage per person. Should you wish, you are able to add one suitcase (one piece of hold luggage) for a supplement of £40.00 per person, as charged to ourselves by the airline.

Please read carefullyWe want you to enjoy every minute of your break or longer holiday with us, and we’ll do our very best to try to ensure that it lives up to your expectations of it. We believe that our 30 years of tour operating experience, together with the reputation we have for quality and value, should give you the confidence to book with us. To give you further peace of mind, we accept your booking on the basis of our Terms and Conditions, which are designed to clarify the contractual obligations between us. Please spend some time reading them carefully, and please feel free contact us should anything be unclear.Your contract with us

1 YOUR BOOKINGYour booking, once accepted and confirmed in writing to you, represents a contract between all persons named on the Booking and/or on the Confirmation of Reservation, and Newmarket Promotions Ltd (The Company). The contract is based on the information given in the holiday brochure, and the terms laid out in the following Booking Conditions. This agreement is governed by English Law and jurisdiction is conferred on the English courts but not exclusively, so if you live elsewhere in the UK, when the courts of Scotland and Northern Ireland also have jurisdiction.

2 YOUR PAYMENTYour Confirmation of Reservation includes an invoice showing the deposit paid and the final balance due. The outstanding amount must be paid by the due date. Should we not receive payment by this date we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled, in which case you could be liable to pay cancellation charges according to the scale set out in paragraph 4 below. Please note that a 2% per transaction charge will be made for payments by credit card. IMPORTANT NOTE: The person making the Booking does so on behalf of all persons named on it, and he/she becomes directly responsible to the Company for the payment of the total holiday price and if applicable, and where appropriate, for the cancellation charges and disbursements of any funds.

3 YOUR ALTERATIONSIf you want to change any of the details of your booking, we will always do our best to help. We will however make an amendment charge of £10 per person (maximum £40 per Booking per amendment) as a contribution to our administrative expenses. All amendments must be notified to us in writing by the person who made the original booking.NB If an amendment involves a change of name, insurance premiums are not transferable. Where any change is made to a booking involving travel by air, we reserve the right to make additional charges to cover in full any costs charged to us by our suppliers.

4 YOUR CANCELLATIONYou or any member of your party may cancel your booking or part of it once it has been confirmed but the cancellation will only be valid if made in writing direct to the Company. If the cancellation results in a person travelling alone, a single room supplement is payable. The amount payable on cancellation depends upon when we receive your written instructions – the more notice you give, the less we will charge. Period before departure date within which written instructions are received by Newmarket Promotions Ltd. and amount of cancellation charge (shown as a percentage of the total holiday price excluding insurance premium which is not refundable) are as follows:Charge prior to “Balance Due” date* Deposit only“Balance Due” date* - 22 days 30% or deposit if greater21 - 15 days 45% or deposit if greater14 - 2 days 60%less than 48 hours prior/after departure 100%Notes: If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of an insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.* The “Balance Due” date is printed/shown on your “Confirmation of Booking & Invoice”.

5 YOUR COMPLAINTSIn the unlikely event that you have problems whilst on holiday, you MUST report the matter to the hotel or our representative IMMEDIATELY during your holiday. If the matter is not then satisfactorily resolved, you must complete a written report (form available from our representative). You must then follow up any complaint in writing within fourteen days of your return, including a copy of the original report form. We operate a strict code of conduct which also conforms to European regulations on package travel and take any complaints received seriously. A failure to follow the procedure outlined will affect the outcome of the complaint and any possible compensation.6 YOUR TRAVELLING CONDITIONSWhere as part of the holiday you have booked your travel by air, land or sea, such travel will be subject to the terms and conditions of carriage of the airline, shipping, rail or coach company providing the transport. In most cases, the conditions will limit the carrier’s liability to you in accordance with international law. Should anyone be refused admission to the coach, ferry or flight, or to the destination country by the transport or government authority, then we are powerless to assist and cannot be held responsible. This includes any passenger

who fails to advise us of any medical condition or disability. If you are prevented from travelling as a result, our responsibility for your holiday thereupon ceases. Full cancellation charges will apply and we will be under no obligation whatsoever for any refund, compensation or loss you may incur.

Our contract with you1 OUR CONFIRMATION OF RESERVATIONWhen we have received your Booking and deposit we will send you a Confirmation of Reservation which details exactly what is booked for you. From this moment Newmarket Promotions Ltd., has accepted your booking on the terms set out in this Contract.

2 THE PRICE OF YOUR HOLIDAYChanges in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, duties, taxes or fees chargeable for services and exchange rates, mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges.Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place. The price of your holiday was calculated using exchange rates quoted in the Financial Times Guide to World Currencies 31 July 2014.

3 OUR ALTERATIONSIt is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your holiday but we do plan your holiday arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally changes may be made, which we reserve the right to do at any time. Most of these changes are minor (eg. cancellation of an optional excursion) and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If a major change becomes necessary we will inform you as soon as is reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. A major change is one that we make to your holiday arrangements before departure that involves changing your resort area, or time of departure or return by more than twelve hours, or offering accommodation with a lower official classification than that advertised (except the latter in the case of en route tour hotels). When a major change occurs, you will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, purchasing another available holiday from us, (we will refund any price difference if alternative is of lower value) or cancelling your holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except where the major change arises due to force majeure (see below), we will pay compensation as detailed below:15 - 28 days £100 - 14 days £25IMPORTANT NOTE : We will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, epidemics and pandemics, unavoidable technical problems with transport.

4 OUR CANCELLATIONSWe reserve the right in any circumstances (including failure to reach sufficient numbers) to cancel your holiday and in this event we will return to you all money you have paid to us or will offer you an alternative, available holiday to purchase of comparable standard. In no case, except for reasons of war etc, (see Important Note above) will your holiday be cancelled after the date when your final balance becomes due.

5 OUR COMPLAINTS PROCEDURENewmarket Promotions Ltd is a Member of ABTA with membership number V787X. ABTA Members help holidaymakers to get the most from their travel and assist them when things do not go according to plan. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. For further information about ABTA, the Code of Conduct and the arbitration scheme available to you if you have a complaint, contact ABTA, 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ Tel: 0901 201 5050 or www.abta.com. We can normally agree an amicable settlement of the few complaints we receive. However, if we cannot agree, disputes arising out of, or in connection with this Contract may (if the customer so wishes) be referred to arbitration under a special Scheme which, though devised by arrangement with the Association of British Travel Agents, is administered quite independently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The Scheme (details of which will be supplied on request) provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability

on the customer in respect of costs. The Scheme does not apply to claimsfor an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per Booking. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequences of such injury or illness. Redress under this Scheme requires written notice requesting arbitration to be made within nine months of scheduled date of return from the holiday.

6 OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR HOLIDAY OVERSEAS HOLIDAYS(a) Although we have no direct control over services provided to you by independent suppliers we accept responsibility for the reasonable standard of the holiday which you book. If any part is not provided as promised, we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your holiday, except where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable.(b) We accept responsibility if you or any person named on the booking suffers bodily injury, illness or death due to the negligent acts and/or omissions of: (i) our employees or agents; or(ii) our suppliers or sub-contractors, servants or agents whilst acting within the scope or in the course of their employment to provide any service or arrangement forming part of the holiday that you have booked with us save that we do not accept responsibility for any air or sea carriers whose liabilities are limited by the relevant International Conventions. Provided that any such claims will be subject to and dealt within accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.(c) We shall give you assistance in the event that you suffer illness, personal injury or death during the period of your holiday overseas arising out of an activity which does not form part either of the holiday arrangement with us or an excursion offered through us. This assistance will include advice and guidance and, at our discretion and where appropriate, financial assistance subject to our spending a maximum amount in this regard on behalf of yourself and any other person named on the Booking of £5,000 in total.(d) In the event of a claim under this clause six against us by you or any person named on the Booking we reserve the right to claim in your place against the person or corporation responsible for the act, default or omission giving rise to the claim and you hereby agree to assign to us all your rights under this clause six and we will be subrogated to those rights and you hereby agree to assist us fully in the event that we enforce the rights which have been assigned to us or to which we are subrogated.(e) We take the safety and security of our clients extremely seriously. If a Foreign Office advises that people should not visit a particular country, then we would act on this. However, we are sure you appreciate from press and television coverage that the political, economic and social conditions in many countries are not as stable as we are used to. Sadly crimes against both people and their property are a fact of life the world over, and when in a foreign country it is very important to be extra vigilant and avoid drawing attention to yourself by wearing expensive jewellery, carrying expensive camera equipment etc. Travellers have the same responsibility for their personal safety and that of their possessions, as they do at home. As situations in countries can change rapidly, we would suggest you may wish to contact the Foreign Office Travel Advice unit on 0845 850 2829 for up to date information and advice regarding safety BEFORE BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY. Newmarket Promotions Ltd., operate to many parts of the world, some of which do not conform to British health and safety standards. We request that all our hotels comply with the local regulations applicable in their country for health and safety but we cannot guarantee that these meet British standards.

UK HOLIDAYSWe accept responsibility for ensuring that all component parts of this inclusive holiday are supplied to you as described in this brochure and to a reasonable standard. If any such part is not provided in the advertised manner, we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected your enjoyment of your holiday.

7 TRAVEL INSURANCEBecause of the importance of having adequate insurance cover we make it a condition of booking on all foreign holidays that you are covered by an insurance policy. If you elect not to take our insurance, you agree to indemnify Newmarket Promotions Ltd. for any costs that arise which would otherwise have been met had Newmarket Promotions Ltd insurance been taken. Should you fail to supply us with the name of your insurance company at the time of booking, our insurance premium will automatically be added to your invoice. Please note, if you take out our insurance, certain claims will be subject to an excess charge.8 FINANCIAL PROTECTION & REPATRIATIONIn line with the EC Directive on package travel, Newmarket Promotions Ltd offers complete financial protection for all customers. Newmarket Promotions Ltd is a fully-bonded member of ABTA - The Association of British Travel Agents, ensuring both your financial protection and high standards of professionalism and reliability. Therefore you can book and travel with Newmarket Promotions Ltd in total confidence that your money and your holiday are safe. In the unlikely event of the company failing while you are abroad, the ABTA bond will be used to repatriate you.

Important InformationTHE BOOKING FORMThe importance of clear, correct information on the Booking Form is essential, for it is from this information that we make your reservation and our contract with you. The person to whom all correspondence, invoices and travel documentation are to be sent, should be entered as the first name. It is also their address and telephone number(s) that should be shown and it must be they who sign the Booking Form. Other names are required by airlines, insurance companies, hoteliers etc., so please be accurate. For flight-inclusive tours it is essential that these names match those on the passports. We do not accept bookings for students unaccompanied by supervising teachers.

YOUR JOURNEYThe coach companies we use have been selected to be relied upon to provide modern, comfortable coaches and careful, considerate drivers. In line with current regulations all UK coach companies supply coaches fitted with lapbelts at no extra cost. Smoking is prohibited on all our coaches. Regular comfort stops are made. Space is limited so please restrict yourselves to one suitcase per person, plus light hand luggage. If your school/college is not based on the mainland, the coach will collect you from where you arrive on the mainland. Please note that any travel arrangements to the mainland are not included in our package price.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION & FINAL BALANCE PAYMENTYou will receive your final Itinerary and travel documentation four weeks prior to departure, provided all payments have been made. The final balance payment is due 8 weeks prior to departure for coach and Eurostar travel or 12 weeks for air travel.

COACH PICK-UP POINTS AND TIMESWhen completing the Booking Form you will have to specify your pick-up point if this is different to your school/college address. We will show this on our Confirmation Invoice. It is the group leader’s responsibility to ensure that all group members adhere to the timings given on your travel documentation. In the event that one or more members of your group are late to the pick-up point at any time during your trip, to the extent where the itinerary arrangements may be jeopardised, the coach driver is within his rights to leave at the appointed time and no additional arrangements need to be made for late arrivals. For the return journey you will be disembarked at your original pick-up point. Our driver will endeavour to give an estimated time of arrival at each point, prior to the last transit/comfort stop. This will enable you to telephone taxis or parents who may be meeting you. Our homebound drop-offs are scheduled in reverse order of the pick-ups. Because of the inconvenience and delays caused to other passengers we are unable to accept requests to be picked up or dropped off at additional points.

DELAYSOccasionally flights, trains, ferries and coaches may be delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases we will do our utmost to help you and keep you fully informed. In the event of extended overnight delays, depending upon circumstances, we will endeavour to provide accommodation. In the case of a major delay to your homeward journey, we shall endeavour to delay the departure from your hotel.

SPECIAL REQUESTSThere are of course only a limited number of front seats on coaches, low floor rooms in hotels etc. We cannot guarantee to meet all requests but will do our best to oblige.

FITNESS TO TRAVEL YWe strive to give all our customers full care and attention, but we do need to know at the time of booking if there are any special needs or requirements. It is particularly important that we are advised of any disabilities and also if you intend to bring any specialist equipment such as a wheelchair with you. Tailgate coaches can be provided at extra cost and are subject to availability. In the event that you need any special arrangements made for any members of your group, please ensure that you call us to discuss these requirements prior to making your booking and then send full details of them with your completed Booking Form. These will be acknowledged on your Confirmation of Reservation. If any passengers have suffered from a serious medical condition recently, then they should consult with their doctor about their fitness to travel.

ADDITIONAL EXTRAS NOT BOOKED WITH NEWMARKETWe cannot be held responsible for compensation in respect of any extras which are booked (eg travel insurance, currency) with a third party, if we subsequently cancel your tour for whatever reason. If you book your travel insurance with us, you would receive a full refund in this circumstance.

FLIGHT-INCLUSIVE TOURSAll the flight-inclusive tours in this Information Pack are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) are listed on it. Please see our booking conditions for further information or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.atol.org/ATOLcertificate.

Our exclusive curriculum-led education programmes at Disneyland® Paris include subject-specific seminars and workshops, multimedia presentations, interviews with subject experts, together with comprehensive education resource materials and student assignment projects.

“Our examination results have improved significantly since we introduced our annual educational tour with Study Experiences. My experience of their service, the quality of their travel arrangements and the attention to detail of their educational content has been exceptional and the trips themselves have provided my students with the best experiences imaginable outside of the classroom.”
